I imported an avatar from cmx10, (same format 76x97 pixels, in 24-bit depth), and have loaded/selected the new one... but when I play games the new avatar doesn't show?

Why didn't you just copy the whole 10th edition avatars folder into Grandmaster edition avatars folder?

I don't think this is true. If you select a woman silhouette then it will be shown. Custom avatars are not visible online.

Something is bothering me here.
When you go online YOU should see your own custom avatar, it's just that everybody else won't see it. They will see a silhouette or whatever they have saved under the same number as you have. For example: if you have your custom avatar under number 3 in the ini file and I have mine also on the number 3 slot, then if we meet online I will see my avatar next to both your and my name, and you will see your avatar next to our names. If you have you avatar on slot 3 (all next slots are empty) and I have mine on slot 4 (and something else on slot 3) then I will see whatever I have on slot 3 next to your name, and you will see a boy sillhouette next to mine (because your 4th slot is empty). Only the avatar slot is send when you connect online, so the avatar that is on that spot on local computer is always displayed. Thats why custom avatars don't work online because nobody else has it on their computers. The only way for custom avatars to work is if you organise yourself and you all send your avatars to one person, he then clasifies them and post them in a zip file so that everyone can download them and extract them into the avatar folder (together with the ini file, of course). That way everybody who would download this would have identical files (in identical order) on their computers and they would actually see each other avatars. |

Ok, my mistake then. It worked like this with 10th edition and it works like this in Grandmaster edition correspondence play so I assumed it works the same in real-time online play too (I don't play online).
