Hallo!
I've been here be4, only under another user, i think. anyways, straight to buissness! I'm looking for the chess program. I need the most possiable options for the program; like personalities, player vs cpu, cpu vs cpu, etc, etc. Strong cpu is also a priority, but if i have to sacrafice a cpuvs cpu match, forget it. I heard fritz 11 has no cpu vs cpu match? if so, its outta my list. any other ncie chess programs out there that fits into my demands? (hehe) i got good enough computer power for any chess program. NOTE: best interface and most options are my first priority, and cpu rating elo being my second. Thankee! |

Fritz's engine is indeed stronger, but it does not have personalties; instead, it has something called "Friend" mode, where you can adjust its strength.
As far as CPU vs. CPU, I've heard of other people pitting Fritz against another chess engine, although I'm not sure how to do that. If you've been here before, then you'll know that Fritz's online play is better than Chessmaster -- less bugs, and there's never a shortage of people online to play against. Two areas where Chessmaster beats Fritz: a user-friendly, customizable user interface, and training/tutorials. So it all depends on what you want -- for engine strength and online play, choose Fritz; but for training and user interface, Chessmaster is best. If you haven't already, read WargamerScott's Review of Chessmaster XI. This message has been edited. Last edited by: KHollister, |
