I'm not getting any voice for the waizken academy or the advice and annotation. However I am getting voice for illegal move commentary and spoken move announcements. I clicked the relevant buttons on the sound menu and I made sure all the files were installed. What can I do to fix this? I also installed the patch
First, make sure you have the latest service packs for your operating system installed, as well as the latest drivers for your sound card.
Second, you said you checked to make sure you had the sound files installed... did you do a full installation? If not, that's your problem. A minimum installation only installs some of the sound files.
Tutorial voice files are in "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition\Data\TData" folder. The content of the folder should look like this.
Check to see what is managing your audio OUTPUT, in my case it was SRS audio sandbox, what was happening is the option I selected would play all sounds BUT the academy files, which is weird. If that's the case then temporarily change your setting (in my case with SRS, WOW-HD was the problem, so I used "trusurround" when running chessmaster).
If you dont have SRS installed then perhaps it's another audio program (maybe even one that came with your computer) managing the output of your sound, so change the output and restart the lesson (THIS IS IMPORTANT, BECAUSE UNLESS YOU RESTART THE LESSON NO SOUND COMES THROUGH, WHENEVER CM IS MINIMIZED OR ANOTHER WINDOW IS ACTIVE EVERYTHING STALLS)
