Having waited now for many months after the announcement of a new MM game, I am wondering where the heck it is?
Have Ubisoft forgotten their promise to us? Or did they only promise this, to shut those, who want a MMX, up?
I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel hoodwinked...

I would be interested, but I only recently became interested in the Might and magic side of the franchise (homm fan, but just ordered 7 after playing 6 and 4/5).

That's why I'm not up to date on Might and Magic 10 news. What promise did ubisoft make?

help! the forum ate my post.

They did not promise MMX precisely, but only a new game of the Might and Magic label (could very well be a "of MM game")
But many of us hópe the game will be MMX.
Ubi promised to announce the ame in this year and many of us guessed they'd do it in the summer, but as we see, that has not happened.

I hope so also.

But do Dark Messiah Elements or Tribes of the East count?

I think what is more likely to happen is a game that will be a "spiritual successor", a game that is like might and magic only without the name. I'm surprised there isn't a fan mm 10.

I don't think that they could have been meaning an actual M&M 10 game, what they said covers just about any game related to the series, be it DM, HoMM or whatever they might choose.

Of course you are correct BTOG.
But I don't think they were referring to an expansion.

True, but Tribes of the East is a stand alone, so they might not class it as an expansion, still it would be nice to think they really did have something new in the pipeline.
I wonder if they've ever considered a Might and Magic mmorg, Ubi's offerings in that field are a bit thin on the ground, mmorgs seem to be popular money spinners for other publishers.

MMORPGs are definetely good money spinners (if you make a good one that is)
But I would only buy a MM MMORPG if it was set in the old universe.

I'm personally thinking that they'll release a "MMX" in 2010 (MMX being 2010 in roman numerals. Hopefully it will be a box set with all the previous games included. It would be cooler still if the games were re-released over steam, perhaps with a larger view-distance and anti-aliasing.

They've already announced it in like, the summer.

That's the logic I would go by and is entirely realistic. That would be my vote as well.

It reminds me numerological mystisism of some
ancient Orphean cult.
Since I have not found any reasoning or commenting by today's masters of MM
about MM X
I,certainly, agree that numerology might have more sense...
in a sense of sense absence from Ubi ,of course.

P.S. So I thank you for your very interesting contribution
