I've been playin the old Might and Magic 6-7-8 lately and you know,, i think they need to make a newer version of these games,, like in the classic rpg style aswell, just with majorly updated graphics...i know i personally would buy it, not to mention alot of fans im sure would,, anyone else agree?

It would be great... But I guess the fanbase isn't big enough

Oh, but remake Heroes 1 and 2, don't worry about Might and Magic. Oh heh heh, sorry. Actually, I'd welcome a remake of the might and magic games, but Heroes first, my old disks are too worn at this point. Kids.  *grin* If you're gonna do it, go for MM1 and MM2. THOSE are the true classics. :O)But I don't need re-makes. Wouldn`t you like them updated though, to take full advantage of modern hardware.?
UBI are releasing a new updated version of Settlers 2 and the demo looks great and it seems to have all the feel of the original. Surely you`d like them to do that with HoMM and M&M too. That's kind of like asking me if I'd like to see Quintin Tarrentino film a re-make of Raiders of the Lost Ark. When something holds such a special place in your heart, the last thing in the world you want is for someone (especially someone who has NO CONNECTION WHAT-SO-EVER to the original game) to alter the original vision.

In a way I can understand you not wanting a remakeof M&M, I was not pleased with the treatment of Bards tale and Pool of radience, two of my favourite early role playlayers. the modern remakes may have had nice graphics etc. but the soul of the games was missing

I personally would be completely content with an XP-friendly complete 1-9 edition.

But I'm afraid that IX allrady is able to run on XP.- Perhaps I should get myself mac so I'm sure it can sneak attack my PC

Sorry guys. But I'm not getting the problem here. I've got every version of M&M (yes, even 9) and they ALL run on Windows XP. There are some small tweeks you need to do to them to get them to run though.
Look here for some tips. CH's tips for M&M on XP page The only one that still has problems after these changes is MM1...it still runs too fast. But DosBox helps. Yeah Dosbox and VDMSound will get most of the clasics working (Unfortunetly I onlyhave World of Xeen
) and I can get 6, 7, 8 working on my XP system with a bit of work.However wouldn't you like to see the older games in up-to-date graphics? Hell I'd pettition to make sure the clasics stay tile and turn bassed (that's what makes em so clasic afterall) or at the very least an option of tile based or full 3D, but could you imagine Terra or Xeen on full 64 bit collour with FULL digitised speach (not just the cut sceens)? *drools* __________________________ "Dovie'andi se tovya sagain!" I want them to remake Elite and the two sequels, but just debugging and the graphics, the gameplay mustn`t be touched.
