Well. Some first impressions from me:

Contents include Heroes of Might and Magic 2 with 2 expansions according to the box. They thought the subtitle of the base game was actually an expansion!

Now, I installed both Heroes of Might and Magic I & II, because I know they, like most people who release compilations like this, would forget CD audio. They did. This is very bad, and I can't believe developers keep forgetting it, but here it's even worse, since Heroes of Might and Magic II MIDI music doesn't work in XP. So you'll be left with *NO* music in Heroes of Might and Magic II.

As for the games working in XP and Vista, there never was an OS compatibility issue, all the Heroes of Might and Magic games works perfectly in XP and Vista, with all features intact (except maybe network multiplayer for the original Heroes of Might and Magic). Pity the same can't be said for this "complete" edition.

TL;DR: Don't even think about buying this for the two first games, it's strictly a compilation of the last three + expansions.

Weird. The H5 CE I have contains H2 and the sound there works.

Sound or music? There's a huge difference between those two words...

I could guess it's an issue with my sound card setup, but it's the standard setup for a pretty common sound card, so it's still sucky to not include CD audio (which is one of the most important parts of the game) knowing that lots of people will have problems with MIDI music.

Epic failure for not letting anyone in the US to purchase a copy.

yeah sure you could buy this from the ubi site that ships world wide but that's like close to 200 dollars for US , which is a bit much...

I just hope they release another version just for us.....

Guys, rather(OK, not rather, ENOURMOUSLY) stupid question. I've got Complete Edition(big white box, full of stuff, etc). I've re-installed completely Heroes V(+ HoF, +ToE). I've looked through the Bonus DVD. AND I JUST CAN'T FIND this bonus map(with Sareth, "revealing the Dark Messiah" blah-blah-blah). So, I consider, YOU are my last chance to find this stupid map(Or may be I'm stupid), but PLEASE HELP anyway.

About the Dark Messiah map, I thought you had to 'unlock it' by beating all the campaigns...maybe elementalist has more info.

If you can't find it, you can download it here:

Hi,
I saw the HOMM Complete boxed set today, despite it being near impossible to find out about on the Internet. It contains all the HOMM games up to date with every expansion, plus loadsa goodies including a t-shirt, poster, and soundtracks etc. It's at a relatively low price too! (approx. $70)

I'm gonna buy it soon as Smile

----------------------------------------
EDIT

I did go and buy it & I'm very happy with it! There's also a really cool hardback book with loadsa HoMM5 art Smile

10/10!

One thing you should know about CD Audio. It can not be recorded on a DVD. Trust me, if there would have been any way to include the CD audio on the disc, they would have been there. Also, seeing that there is just one DVD for several games, even if CD audio could have been recorded, which set of tracks should have been chosen?

And MIDI should work, if H1 or H2 doesn't find audio tracks, it defaults to MIDI (unfortunately, from time to time, when you first start the game, it can throw you the Cannot Play Audio Track xx to yy message, but after you restart the game it works without ever giving you this message).

Hi guys.

Was dawdling through PC World (UK) in Blackpool the other day and ended up buying the HoMM complete edition for £35. Prob is that the cheat codes for the original HoMM I don't seem to work on this version (except full map).

Don't want to go on to HoMM II till i've seen everything there is in the first HoMM lol.

Anybody got any different codes?

Well to be honest it's usually the US that gets everything 1st/faster/cheaper so it makes a change :-)

Try pcworld.co.uk and see if they ship to US. If not then i'm sure ebay/amazon should have it or get a pal in UK to send you one.
