Life isn't as whimpy as one might think. There is life on the bottom of the ocean, with no sunlight, where scientists thought no life could exist. And there is life in places thought too hot, cold, dry salty etc. There are even some bacteria that can live in acidic enviorments.
And it seems life appeared on Earth about the time it cooled and formed a crust-far earlier then estimated, which could mean:
- life appears fairly easily
- life came on Earth through spors(yes, there are spores in space, from mushroom and such, and they can stay a loooooong time there and still sprout life)

as for what I said about Red, do U wanna know how he got back? he started playing with the alien spaceship controls and they crashlanded in Roswell. Red recently escaped form Area 51

Just to point out, stars aren't the only mean of energy to life be possible, one usually sub estimated is geothermical energy. What means: Even Venus and Mercury can have life underneath.
