http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4981720.stm Or are we? I personally find it redicoulous that anyone can claim we are alone in the universe, but I also wonder if any of the UFO sightings are true, even tohug I've seen one one night when I and a friend were watching the stars, then I wonder if it perhaps wasn't some strange light fenomen and my friend, who is a conspiracy nutcase, claims it was some governmental experiment That particular time it where sort of two white blinking lightst going crisscross due east like first here: . East -------------------------------------X --------X --------------------------------------X ---------X ---------------------------------------X ----------X . West and so on... no sound, no shape other than those lights, no way it was a airplane and very unlikely that two stalites moved that way, since i've never seen those lights before and they where far to big... has anyone else seen something strange like that? And what do you think of UFOs, I guess most believe in alien life but welcomed to tell about that to... I agree no one can prove that we are alone. Why would this be the only planet where life is possible? Asuming that is just plain dumb.
I'm positive more advanced life forms have watched us like some kind of lab rats for quite a while. ________________________________________________________ Infiltrator out. |

I don't know about all that. I don't know if there are aliens, so I try not to have an opinion-that's ok right?. It coul verry well be that life on earth is just a freak accident that can never happen again- I guess people would find comfort in taht but I find it depresing. Or maybe life is a common thing in the universe, and it exists where ever there are conditions. I heard that Europa(a moon of Jupiter) is made of watter covered in ice and that in that water scientists believe that life could exist. As for UFOs I have never seen one, but I can't all the sighings are false.
Oh and I saw this on television once: http://www.roswellrods.com/ Check it out. ______________________________ Mad Prophet/High Oracle of the Cult of Alderbranch.(now without a picture in his sig) Mah Devart! Why crying? If we are indeed alone, than it's pretty cool. First of all it means we are special Member of the Heroes of Might and Magic V Rescue Team . . . > Still waiting for a better game. |

I find it depressing because it would be a waste of space... just like if you was on a tiny rock in the pacific ocean and the only human that was left to live...
If they had tendences to invade then they would have been destroyed by themself before they could do that... to be that advancded they would have to be curious and carefull rather than straight for it and kill everything new... as for lab rats.. most likely they would get nothing but knowledge about us from it, and for that they only need some 1000 humans or so... I believe they would be more like big brothers or just ignore us, rather than invade us But it could also be that all civilisations are destined to destroy themselves... just see ho often we almost have destroyed ourselves by now Freedom - a mountain in the distant sky, love in the grass, birds on the vast plains of the sea... the fact that we haven't heard anything from an "other" intellignet lifeform is that we haven't heard anything from them, they are smart enough to stay out of our way

I think they abducted Red and concluded that hey Would wait until inteligent life apears on the planet before invading

I must say I really don't believe there are any other inhabited planets in this 'verse. Why? Because no "aliens" have ever made contact with us, and I don't believe in the Evolution Theory.
Faith is the most powerful thing in the world, because it can change the world. For better or worse - SH |

Well, I believe in the evolution theory, as everything I've seen agrees with it. The chances for a planet to be inhabitable are low. The conditions have to be just right. But if the universe is infinite, there's a good chance there's other lifeforms around. I have a vague memory about finds of bacteries somewhere not on earth(will have to check that up)...
As to those possible lifeforms being intelligent, it's hard to know until we have advanced enough technology to find them(note that I am not saying "until we or they have advanced enough technology to find the other one". Why not? Well, if you look objectively at humans, we are quite an appaling race. If an alien is intelligent enough to be able to find us, it will surely be intelligent enough to avoid or exterminate us...). |

Or it'll try to guide us without us knowing...
I believe in the evolution theory too... and I must admitt that it seems more and more like it's, realativly, easy for life to start... it's harder for it to jump from.. how do you say it in Englis... ehm... consisting of one cell and to consisting of several cells, than to actually evolve to the on cell... That is not prooven, but there are more and more scientists starting to believe that... Freedom - a mountain in the distant sky, love in the grass, birds on the vast plains of the sea... There is a bit more disturbing theory, we are not alone, but we are probably the most advanced. Why? Because each and every other "whatsoever" races annihilated themselves, when the technology reached some point, accidentally, looking for technological advances. There were a few times this was almost true with us, one being the A. Bomb. We had no actual idea of how many energy that explosion would have, what if the calculations were wrong and the explosion was 50.000 kilometers wide? The next will happen soon enough when the Europe tries their brand new supercolider toy to try to open a worm-hole, as there is a possibility of creating a black hole (you know, no volume, infinite mass). Sure they say the chance is the same of winning the lottery 5 consecutive times, but what do we actually know about physics? As far as we know all calculations reveal there should be 10 dimensions in our reality, but we can only notice 3, as well as there is unexplained 70% of mass in the universe unfilled that noone has any idea of what is. (Oh, that doesn't means that this theory says there was no survivors, it is possible they reached some kind of spacial travel before self-annihilation, or at least ships that can travel for undetermined amount of time and able to make it's occupants being in body stasis.)
Why people think this must be special or that the conditions on earth are the only possible? Some scientis proved that there is a slight possibility that life exists in Saturn (that big planet with rings sround it), and that Titan is possible to terraform (even easier than mars, but mars has the advantage of distance). For starts, out of the solar system, there is only ONE planet that isn't gaseous that was actually seem, and we know not much besides it is a bit close to it's star and it's gravity is double of the earth's. If you look the other solid planets on solar system you have: One way too close to sun to be cold enough to ours standards. One way too hostile in weather that kills nearly anything in ten diferent ways before you reach the surface. One that is way too far and is most probably an anormally big planetoid that got caught by the Sun gravity. And two planets and a few moons that are fair enough to sustain life, we know nothing about the moons and one of the planets there are a few traces that life could have existed there, as the other there is confirmed life. Finally, the gaseous planets it isn't much known if there's possible to be life, but only not in the way we believe it is possible. --Signal Incoming-- "If I like you, you can call me Sarge. I forgott to mention thath one
Else the possibility was something like 1:600.000.000.000 for each time they do it, and they plan to recreate the big bang in a smale scale about 3 times... this time I don't remember if it was a black hole, or that all matter would change form Freedom - a mountain in the distant sky, love in the grass, birds on the vast plains of the sea... Either way, again, we don't ACTUALLY know physics. We have no idea of what a worm-hole can actually be. We think we know that mathematically other universes do exists, but they it just wouldn't exist anything on them (strange no?). We don't know how exactly a black hole can possibly exists, although it is mathematically proved. So we just can't trust this one in a never-going-to-happen talk, they THINK it is a one is a whatsoever chance. Did they ever answered what is the 70% mass of the universe taht simply don't exists? They call it "dark matter" or "obscure matter", what means: "we have absolutelly no idea".
BTW, I hope anyone can figure out that the planet with confirmed life I've spoken of is EARTH. --Signal Incoming-- "If I like you, you can call me Sarge. But, guess what, I DON'T LIKE YOU! Do you understand, scumbag? It's Sergeant General to you" |

Actually, making a black hole is pretty easy in theory.
You just have to gather a lot of mass. Now, I don't really remember, but I think it's about 10-50 times the mass of our sun that is needed. But I am getting much out of character here. Black hole? orbiT will make black hole! *starts gathering mugs and bottles and putting them in a big pile* Justice, sandro, someone, everyone, I need you to get into my pile and stay there until I've found enough mass. It won't take very long! It'll be a lot of fun! I promise! |

not just that... but we'll soon see how much just it is aye

*gasps*
Oooohh.... so... so much MASS!!! *waves his hands ineffectualy through the illusions trying to put them on the pile* Justish! Give me a hand would you! And go get the sun too, there's a lot of mass in the sun! |

Why so much work? Our scientists will get to create one of a single atom.
