Surely, if you want to make a MMORPG, it would be a Might and Magic based one, as it's already an RPG, and not the turn based Heroes strategy game.
In other words, make Might and Magic 10!
Then, if there's a market for it, it can have a MMORPG version of it made.

Usually I agree with BTOG, but only partially this time. A Propperly made HoMM online game would be superb. Not as in a single hero walking around as superman, that would loose the competition with other similar games right away. Much rather a game wit diplomacy, a global economy, mines, recruting armies, building your castles, buidling empires in alliances, spying... Generally a more realistic HoMM in the HoMM world. No problems with annoying AIs, a more MMORPGish feel to it (the turn based would have to be revised to actions taking some time) and generally I have no idea how it really should look. But if it could be made to work, it would kick *** hard Big Grin

That said, I think they should start by developing MM X, as BTOG says, to resurrect that fanbase and get a hold on the RPG market. Then make a Might and Magic based MMORPG, which would have the rich storyline, the superb quests, the strange mixture of Sci Fi and fantasy which made the series so special and so forth, in order to make it shine a bit out. Or perhaps, even better, combine Might and MAgic and HoMM in a Massive Multiplayer Online game, a bit like these folks are doing in their mod: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4211096804/m/9341015236 .

Just a couple of ideas, but it is rather clear to me that the MM brand has to move into the MMO arena in some way, and has the potential to be big if it really is made with love and care rather than money and saving time.

Would be awesome, ofcourse you should have the same kinda world like WOW, if you think of implanting all of the factions.
Though would it be all factions vs each other?
Good factions in alliance while evil factions (like Inferno or necromancers are alone?)
Or simply go for the good factions vs evil factions?

Oh and the whole pc game should be like Dark messiah multiplayer graphic, that would be epic...

Bascially, unless I'm misinterpreting him, Justice means we're getting our MMO, HoMM Kingdoms Wink Sure, it's not an MMORPG, but, honestly, I prefer it being made the way it is now. It feels more HoMMish than a WoW type game ever could.

Also, Btog, may I point out that WoW, one of if not the most popular mmorpg, is based off a strategy game? Wink

HoMMK is a browser game, but I'll admit that I took quite a bit of my inspiration from that game Wink A game more like a proper MMOG, a global economy system of some kind, and Roleplaying like Quests, spying and such, in order to mix HoMM and MM would be really great.- First person view for Heroes only quests, some epic battle screens perhaps (I guess you would have to have NASA's PC's for that though) and a MM feel where you can enter taverns, talk to NPC's, participate in Alliance councils... And then the "Kingdom Overview" aspect, where you look down on your kingdom as if it was Heroes, but with a bit different graphics. There you see your border's, your alliance's borders, move your armies to and from, take care of your economy, building your kingdom... Kinda like two games in one game. Some could play both, some one of them.

Yeah, I'm dreaming a bit Big Grin might be possible in some years though.
But in addition to that game HoMM, as HoMM is now, should be continued, of course.

Legends of Might and Magic was originally being designed to be an MMO. But due to 3DO's money troubles it got cut into what it was. It would be great to see an MMO in the future, but I'd rather see a true MM10 first.

Seems as though we all agree on that one. Now all we need is for Ubisoft to join us Big Grin
