I mean since ubisoft took over the univers e switched from the one with ancients, kreegan, erathia, enroth and jadaeme to this new one with the most cliched plot ever.

Referring to the timeline on the main M&M site, one can sum the entire timeline up as "ZOMG DEVIL INVASION then ANGELS LOSE LOL WTF BBQ then OMG ARCHMAGE FINDS HIDDEN POWERFUL BEING(7th dragon) who sacrifices himself to defeat the devils and SAVE THE WORLD LOL but NOT KILL THE DEVILS then archmage guy seals the devils away but SCREWS UP THE PROCESS SO THEY CAN ESCAPE DURING ECLIPSES CONDEMNING MILLIONS TO DIE IN THE FUTURE then OMG PROPHECY HALF-DEMON HERO WILL FREE THE DEMONS AND BRING CHAOS TO THE WORLD(reality : he screwed up the sealing prophecy so, instead of admitting his mistake, made some bogus prophecy so people would blame someone else when the world finally gets destroyed thanks to his incompetence) then WTF UN-EXPECTED DEATH NO BODY LOL AND NO ONE WANTS TO PAY FOR A RESURRECTION!"

I wont even go into details about how there are insanely huge holes in the time line, like how there is no mention that the devils can escape during lunar eclipses till the entry about "second eclipse, devils escape blah blah blah", implying there was a first lunar eclipse where the devils escaped in large force and caused havoc before being defeated, but strangely such a catalystic event was never documented in the time lines.

Oh and in the new universe a hero is evidently defined as "Someone who frees an aeons old evil and brings chaos to the world". That or Sar-Shazzar failed to pay attention during english classes.

Last entry is "OMG UN-EXPECTED LUNAR ECLIPSE DEVILS WTF DO WE DO?! Oh wait didnt the same thing happen during the first lunar eclipse that was also un-predicted, and that we survived? NVM ABOUT THE DETAILS PANICK!!!!"

Someone please explain to me for what reason was the existing M&M universe thrown away to be replaced by a B-Grade hollywood movie plot? Im serious. The standard of this "plot" is such that, if submitted in some expanded form to a movie/TV studio or publisher, you would be laughed out of the building. I dont think i need to explain why "great evil breaking free from hundreds years old seal to invade mortal lands" is not exactly quality standards of creativity.

We threw away 3 continents each with unique cultures and background history, all the history about the wars in both the heroes of M&M games and the main M&M titles, all the stuff about the ancients and kreegans, all the conflicts between the many religions of the world, so on and so forth, for this? What for?

The only answer i can logically come up with is "To tell the world this is Ubisoft's property now and we are throwing all the old 3D0 stuff away!". The alternative is too horrifying to comprehend(that evidently enough people in power decided this was a BETTER plot)

If the former is true i consider it terribly sad that pointless posturing is considered more important than actual quality of product. Its like some cold war era american propaganda piece where some nice, western charity workers would give a russian family some warm clothes, and the big bad evil soviet commisar would snatch them away shouting "CAPITALIST GARBAGE! YOU USE GOOD SOVIET CLOTHING!" and throw the family rags.

Actually I agree with you. The new storyline is very thin/shallow/predictable, in compariosn to the old MM games. Why this is I don't know.
But they could have been more creative instead of "dragon gods", I mean dragons are everywhere. Every town has a dragon for the 7th level unit, wich is just boring.

The Dragons as Gods thing is pretty cool, but they could have made a more interesting plot, but I can't expext much from the story if the game came out with soooooo many bugs. I just hope that in future Heroes they'll dump Nival, or at least teach it something and make a proper game and improve on the story, which with some modifications can be fixed(I mean they can't just do another another revamp).
