7900 GS (250mb) 170 - 200 Euro
7800 GTX 300 - 500 Euro 8800 280 - 600 Euro (depending on version.) Really, the only once coming close to your original price of 150 Euro is the 7900 GS. But again, it won’t be able to cope with DX10 so it will last you about a year or two before you can no longer play new games. So you can probably forget about playing Heroes 6 or Diablo 3 on it. The cheapest 880 might be an option, and you might want to give this review a look. It’s not perfect though, because I read somewhere that there were some driver problems. But to be fair, I have the utmost confidence that NVIDIA will, or already has, corrected that problem. I guess the first question you have to ask yourself; how much do you want to spend. Then the second question to as yourself is; how much are you WILLING to spend. H.W. Edit: Funny enough, that article that I suggested, also gives more info about DX10. I personally had no idea just what the big deal was, just that Microsoft was trying to make more money, but it seems that DX10 truly IS the next step. (If the promises hold through.) Alias, is only that I cant afford more than 150€... i'm 17 years old and i cant get 350€ for a 8800 GFX card.. (cheapest DX10 card in my shop). Maybe the 8800 GTS 350€ would get down the cost with the R600 ATI GFX Card, but it wont get down so much... If i cant afford more than 150€, what can I do?? Must I wait? or buy a new GFX Card?
Oh! And, BTW, I've heard that you need a powerful MOBO and a powerful Power Support to run that beast... so more money to spend... In total, i would have to pay nearly 500€.. cant, just impossible :S We can do anything... we only need to propose it! http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.es ---> Comunidad Hispana Numero 1 |

I did read the review fully now (as far as I understood it
Anyway, the price was basically my point. That’s why I said that the 7900 is really the only option (unless you want to go lower of course.) The other prices were only as reminder since I did remember your originally named amount. The reason why I still mentioned the 8800 was because I know from my own graphic card experience just how tempting it is to go a little more, and a little more, and ‘if’ you were going to do that, than I would suggest the cheapest 8800. But as mentioned, that is way beyond the original price because of the card, and the power supply. Having said that, I personally think that this is very clever marketing tool. nVidia brings out this wide range of cards and there is always one better that is only a little more expensive. So the temptation is there to get that one step better, and then... ‘well, if I spend those extra 50, I might as well spent 100, oh wait that card is only 50 more than that one, but damn that is a great one for only 50 more than this one. If it was a clear step of, say 150 between every card time, most would go for the cheapest cards, but if it’s ‘only’ 50 more, and only 50 more, and only 50 more... you don’t even notice that in the end you are still buying that expensive card. Anyway, since I always use a lot of words, let me clarify. Some posts back you said: Yey! Good idea mate ^^ YES!!! the 7900GS is available for 164€ in my store YEYYYY! Thanks for that tip mate ^^ Thx a lot And now I suggest, if you can get that card for that price; go for that one. H.W. Edit: Actually from the review I know there is one more thing to keep in mind with the 8800. The card will not fit in every computer, simply because of size. If I remember correctly the card is 30 CM/12Inc long. They suggest in the review that you actually first measure if you can place it in your PC before going out to buy it. Yeh, a 7900 would work for 2 or even 3 years, and, in that time, I think I will be seeeing the 8800 against the R600 with a cost around 150€ or even less

Figures, nVidia couldn’t have launched those a month earlier. I want, I want, I want.

nVidia GeForce 7600GS is about 125 euros, and I think you can overclock it, but I recommend you to wait until the summer. The prices will go down, and you can by 8600 when it comes out.
Juventus is the best! |
