I've got the Heroes Millenium edition wich contains Heroes I, II, and III. I recently purchased a new PC with Vista and attempted loading last night. Windows Installer status bar pops up, gets to 99%, lags for a couple minutes, then just quits. Has anyone attempted to load this version of Heroes on Vista?

BTW: I realize it's an old version so please refrain from telling me to buy HoMM V. :-) Thanks.

DOSBox should solve the problem. I think... em... you can take it from here. For instance.
If you ask me though - kick the damn Vista and install WinXP.

I actually wanted to 'downgrade' back to XP, only problem is that it's a Compaq Presario and Compaq is not offering XP drivers for the hardware. Seems that without doing some significant finagling XP can't be loaded on the new PCs. Oh well. Hopefully if the Complete edition becomes available in the US it will be Vista compatible.
