OK, now it works for me as well. It was just a temporary thing, probably still b/c of the recent move to a new host.

For the sceptics above - just so you know I wasn't just spamming - I was chatting with znork around the time I started this thread, and he can 'testify' it wasn't working for him as well.

Anyway, problem seems to be solved, so the thread can be closed (*if* any mod around)...

I say we freakin fix up H5 and make it how we want and then work on H6 to make it perfect and not let down untill it IS perfect from when first released, and I don't mean bug free, but perfect concept wise :P

Well, that's the problem (and meaning of the last part of my sig): concept wise H5 f***ed up so much the Heroes universe, that I don't see any H6 that could patch things up.

H3 was the natural step after H2. H4 was a brave experiment, however half-failed (was it lack of funds, was it sth else... that's another story). IMO it was so easy to make a H5 that would bring the H3 & H4 communities together, by continuing/perfecting the innovations of H4 (just leave out the micro-management) and bring back all the good things from H3 (the large variety of creatures, the upgrades etc).

Instead they started working on H5 like H4 never existed, which felt like an insult towards all the H4 fans (and I'm not even one of them). They only copied H3, but in such a way that proves they never understood it, by spoiling creatures and mixing up allignments (worse then H4 ever did when they mixed Inferno with Necro). The fact that they so indicently copied so much from Warhammer just comes like the rotten cherry on the top.

On bases of that, what hopes am I left with for H6, which will most probably be developed by the same team? I doubt that anytime sooner than H7 - all people involved now in the production of H5 - would have gotten tired of it, and gone to explore new horizons. Only then, with a new fresh team, this game would have a chance to go back to its roots.

Until then... there's WoG, there's Civ, there are so many other games - PC, board or open air. Don't worry, life doesn't end with a failed game. Enjoy the good part of it.
