I think they should rename everything.
european football/soccer = Flashdance american football = Bladerunner This would remove all confusion right away. Now, you would of course have to rename the movies too. It would be like: "Want to play some Flashdance?" "No, we dont do that here in America, we like to do a Bladerunner all over the place." *** "Want to go watch some American Football?" "Yea, that's a great sf." |

heh heh...funny topic. I myself am from the US but HAVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD THIS EITHER. I'd be the first to admit that our "football" isn't even a very good game. And why the heck is it called football in the first place? Nobody uses their feet!

i hope the soccer league in USA beats NBA in popularity someday i play basketball for fun sometimes. but watching basketball is really a pain in the ass .. only a psycho would do that. think of it. you watch an NBA game. one of your favorite team ie. you pay a huge price for the ticket. just to do these: you cheer up, clap your hand when your team get scored. and then silent in the next ten or twenty second when your enemy team get scored. again and again along the game. cheer up, silent. cheer up, silent. cheer up, silent. every twenty second. nuts. as crazy as american football. every twenty second stopped. |

Anyway, if USA (who are novice in this sport) want to play like Brazil and win the World Cup, they have no chance. Not only because nobody could ever play like Brasil, but they have a hudge gap to fill to catch the other nation too. Or else they will remain with their football, and play alone. |

You're nitpicking my post!
 When I said that all our channels put on is football, I didn't mean it literally. I just meant to say that we don't greatly publicize soccer here, and put on other sports instead. I didn't feel like introducing basketball, golf, Nascar, etc. into the thread. I don't enjoy US football, and would much prefer it if soccer took its place here.
