I've purchased every HOMM since I first bought a computer. Still I find the best HOMM in my opinion to play in Hotseat or even single player is the original 3. They are classics. M&M RPG and Strategy series are my only PC gaming software.

I owned (might not be able to find or may have given away)
-HOMM 1-3 (all original discs and expansions)
-HOMM Gold Package
-HOMM Complete Package
-MM 6-8
-HOMM 4 & 5
-MM 9
-MM Dark Messiah

-My new Dell Quad Core computer has a Geforce 8800. This computer will not install either Heroes 1 or 2. I still have yet to find my install CD for HOMM 3 Complete so the verdict is out on that.

The patches for these games located on this site does not solve my install problem. It is likely because of the graphics card architecture. Heck even Arcomage fails to boot up even after I mounted it to a drive. My question, is there or will there be another HOMM package that will include a patch that allows me to play my favorite classic HOMM games?

Well if the computer is that new I assume you have Windows Vista?

Sometimes it's as simple as right clicking the installer and checking off run in windows 98 or windows xp compatibility mode...
