Freedom - a mountain in the distant sky, love in the grass, birds on the vast plains of the sea...
Freedom - I treasure your name, I love your sweet sound, I smell your dreams.

I see you - when I turn away
I hold you -when my hands are full

Freedom -
Never shall you be more than a name to me

Any post in the Tavern is regarded as "fair game" for the threadjackers, this is the general chat and off topic area after all. Wink

Well the first he wrote was "The Colour of Magic" but it doesn`t really matter, they may loosely follow from previous books, but they can each be read as a stand alone novel, so to speak. Big Grin

Cool! a story about us? I thought about making a comic about us when I gat a tabletBig Grin That would be sooo cool.
BTW DVCode sucks big time(sad that people actually believe it)
AND I met a doctor on a train trip that concidered himself an expert about tha afterlife and spirits, and he said that the way to God is hard and that we cannot do it without sacrifice and that there is no happyness in this journey, he really made it seem like Satan was the good guy ... weird guy, he also dismissed any scientific explanation and he also believed everything he read, and oh he also said that you can only get closer to God if you give up any happyness and money u have and seek the aid of good spirrits...

I must admit that I share mechnic's sentiments. It's seems like people here are more interested in interacting with each other than reading a story, and that's totally fine. Just a tad on the frustrating side when an aspiring writer sees 30 replies and 300 views on his story thread and thinks to himself "Oh cool, people are interested in this," only to discover ten votes and three or four replies actually relating to the thread topic (half of which want a story relating to themselves).

Yes this is a place for people to meet and chat, but it seems like this rare creative offer has been buried under the will of people who, first and foremost, want to engage with one another and be heard.

Again I'll stress that there isn?t anything wrong with this (because I'm convinced someone will get defensive). It?s just a shame to see a lack of real interest for someone who is not only capable of conjuring a gripping tale, but is outright serving his time and talent up on a silver platter.

Sirano, just write about what YOU want to write about, at the end of the day there are only two types of writers, those who have something they want to say and are willing to share their dream with the world, and those who write to sell their stories and make money, sometimes a very talented writer can do both.
Don`t ask us what stories we want, just write them and see if we like them, and don`t be disheartened by the tavern crowd, we`re harmless......well, mostly harmless. Wink

I agree with BTOG. As much as I would love to see a literary epic celebrating all of my wonderful, generous, heroic deeds ( Angel ) you should really just write what you want to, you'll enjoy it more and the result will probably be better than something you were told to do.

And we've pretty much gone offtopic in any possible thread in the tavern Hammer

Else I agree with BTOG and Someone, and I think it would be too much work for you too write about those in the tavern, would have to read half the posts and anyway get something wronge Blink

I must say that there is too much interesting to write about. Right now I am very deeply facinated by the H5 world... I would very much like a somewhat original story nevertheless.. Something dark... Something where you (might) realize something about yourself as a human while reading the story...something about politics... Yes. In heroes 5 world, politics. But for a smart reader, the story should corresponds subtly to the real world...I love satire...

There. Smile

Or the intelligence of those damned "intelligent" american missiles. Can you believe that one of those fell close to Brazil's coast... those things are supposed to fall somewhere in the middle-east, or at least CLOSE to there. If they are going to use damn stupid missiles against unarmed people, they... well, they shouldn't! or at least make sure that they are just about intelligent enough to cross the damn ocean...

About Pratchett, I didn't started with Discworld, but with his partnership work with Neil Gailman, "Good Omens" (other great book, by the way). In the Discworld I started with "Pyramids". Nice to know how those big things were supposed to work (not, actually, or how they thought it SHOULD work).

To Sirano, asking people what they want you to write about just end up with your work being manipulated by a bunch of people and being appreciated by some, but noone in special. Do what you think it's best.
