Warning! Offtopic ahead. Offtopic ahead. (Well, kinda of)

I saw that USA thread and I must say...

Heck, if they are stupid we are mental abominations! Since the north-americans outsmart us over and over.

I mean, if there's one country that can win the "most stupid" it is Brazil.

Proof a: We voted Fernando Collor (the president before Fernando Henrique, who was president before Lula) again for some political job recently. What's the matter with that? Only that he was exiled from our country for about 14 years by now. Why? Because it was proved that he stole ALONE monstruous amounts of the national founds to himself and his family. (Before the first MONTH of government he made a party to celebrate the first BILLION of US DOLLARS achived). BTW, EVERYONE in Brazil knows that.

Proof b: Until recently (before 2000) there was this merry ship from the USA that visited the northeastern coast at an scheduled basis to take a few hundreds of tons of sand from a beach for "reasearch" purposes. They were doing it with the local government consentment. One day a professor from the, if I remember right, USP (University of São Paulo) was visiting that beach and found it strange the USA military colecting sand, so he took some samples to process. What he finds? That beach's sand had a high concentration of uranium in it. The local government forbid the "visits" right way, but all the beach was taken away by then.

Proof c: Every year, dozens of new medicines are made. Of these, a high porcentage use in it's manifactury some sythetized substances from rare plants of the amazon forest. NOONE of these medicines are registered as of brazilian origin. The small vilages scatered among the amazon forest are visited regularly by "gringos" who come in asking: "If I have a strong headache, what plant should I take" and the like. Naive as every brazilian is, they merrily answer. Then they take some samples and ship away. Note, if a foreign does the same in the interior of China, most likely he will be shot before he finishes the question, and China retains it's knowledge.

Proof d: The illegal deforesting of the Amazon Forest is one the greatest responsible for it's destruction. Part of it is done so farms can be built and cattle can be breed. Looks logic. That place is swarming with trees, so the soil MUST be SUPER fertile. That logic was used 50 years ago. Well, it was found that the soil of the Amazon Forest is, if anything, sterile. That's right. It's STERILE. And that was found 50 years ago. The flora of the amazon forest can only sustain itself by the organic decomposition of itself. The trees grow not thanks to the soil, but thanks to tons and tons of organic material from centuries, milenia, HECK, since it is not a Pangea anymore. All this is burned with the trees with the deforestation and what is left is a few centimeters of dirt over dry rock. It is possible to grow something in it? Yes. But it's dificult. So, the farmers, instead of going away from the amazon forest they increase their lands INTO the amazon forest. Showing the undeniable proof that the brazilian aren't able to learn into an EMPIRIC basis... Also, most of the deforestation whose the objective is wood straction is foreign. Before the "Take Down Act" (Or whatever it is), that gave our air force the international right to shoot down any flying ship on the amazon forest that isn't registered and doesn't answer the radio, thousands of unidentified flights were reported every year over the area, most likely tranporting illegal wood to the outside. It took way too long for our government to try to get that law working (and even more for the UN to give us permission...)

Proof e: The brazilian are generous. Too much. The foreign just don't see "generous" as a virtue from our people. They don't even see it as "generous". They see it as "naiveness". And for that we are exploited since ever we are perceived as a nation...

Proof f: Big Brother (the reality show). It is making the brazilian people dumber! And most weren't that bright to begin with. It like our telenovels, but 1000 times stronger. First, they give the population this illusion that they have a chance to show up in the TV. When all the "chosen" ones are just picked personally by the important people in the Globo channel (the main channel of our open TV). Example: The next BBB (Big Brothe Brazil) is coming. Bonner, one of the anchors from the Brazilian National News ask his haircutter if he wants to make part. He accepts. There's a new "chosen" for BBB. And large portion of the population awaits every day those few minutes to watch a dozen of "chosens" to do nothing but abusing cliches and stereotypes. Man, I almost prefer the telenovels over this (and look that the so called "script" of these telenovels are probably the worst ever made, and ALWAYS the same. The "villain" who wants to make the protagonists life a hell just because. The children that can trick up adults. The donsel who is divided by the "bad guy" and the "good guy" that always choose the "good guy" because the "bad guy" dies, goes away or simply vanishes. Conviniently. Oh! And the cast made of a medium of 200 "actors". And the fact that the "6's novel" is at 7'o and the "8's novel" is at 10'o. Really a conspiracy to keep the brazilian people as dumb as they can).

I could go on for an eternity, but the dial up conection from the computer I'm using with 1.5 kbps will take too much already to put this on. So here it goes. Probably Bush Jr.'s IQ is double the one of the medium brazilian IQ...

"If I like you, you can call me Sarge.
But, guess what, I DON'T LIKE YOU! Do you understand, scumbag?
It's Sergeant General to you"
