It's a halfways good idea.
Heroes 3 was the best iteration of the game ever, with 5 coming in second.
Heroes 4 was the worst ever, period. It took everything that was good about 3 and simply demolished it. It seemed in 4 that choices were made to try to destroy and dismantle all that was good in the previous three. Almsot like, "well three was a raging success, so let's try to completely rewrite the system, take out everything that we heard worked and worked well, and see what happens." It looked nothing like, played nothing like and was nothing like the others.
Fortunately, like communism , Heroes 4 has since been relegated to the dustbin of history.
My advice, buy it for Heroes 3 and use Heroes 4 as a decorative coaster. Then, at least, it will have some use.

Or, treat H4 as a totally different game. Just pretend that someone created a rip-off of the Heroes games and changed just enough to get away with it legally. Then play H4 and you will get quite a few good hours of fun playtime out of it. It's well worth some extra money. Even better; play H4 first. You will like it and then play H3. The graphics will be worse, but the game play will be better. H.W.

You shouldn't really ask questions like that on the game publishers official forums.

And an equal number would say the opposite.
