Justice I think you misunderstood me, it was ment as a joke. I agree that we should regonize you as an independent state, but I'm afraid it won't happen before we get a new government.
But lets not talk any more about politics for now.

At least it is better than Australia.. Angry Blue Guy
For the next 3 years John Howard has control of both the Upper and Lower Houses. Whatever laws or bills or anything that he wants in, like the workplace relations agreement, he can bring in with no opposition basically (in government anyway). Angry Blue Guy
Although I don't think he will have much time for it though, with all the sucking up to Bush that he does.. Veryhappy

BTW did any of you see how Bush told the blind guy to take his sunglasses off...LOL Veryhappy

OK, the first halftime of the match has passed and the Argentinians are making smoked bacon out of Serbians...It's not like SEMO is playing badly, but they could use a fixer-upper - and if the match continues this way the Argentinians better win the WC, OR ELSE...that would be a nice feeling, to know that we were beaten by the World Champions - the opposite of sour grapes, right? Sweet lemon...

I'll stop talking about football - I've had enough of it for today (although I'll probably watch Ivory Coast vs. Netherlands, just to see Netherlands lose...probably not, but a man can dream, right?).

Let's talk about something else - politics for example! The Hungarian president looks like a proffesional imitator of Mr. Bean and likes to dance and make videos of himself dancing! Now who's got the freakiest politican? And I come from a country in which we used to vote every other weekend - how's that for an example of good politics? Just when I started to enjoy my 'privileges' as an adult in society, I got sick of them! Voting lists of 30-something candidates of which more than half are total idiots! Politics are good until they start to interfere with your personal life - while they're a hobby, not an obsession. I mean, it's one thing complaining about politicans and living a good life with an acceptable standard - but when those same politicans screw up your life, get your father fired from a job he worked at for 20 years and your mother suspended from her duties with a 30% cut off of her wage - that's not just plain talking, that's lack of stability and a real problem. I don't mind discussing politics in Hungary, because I live far better than I did in Serbia - and, yes, Hungary is under a socialist regime which has just been approved its second mandate (thats four years so far and four years to come). Serbia has became a democracy after a long tyranical period and just when things started to change, people realised that the words have changed but life hasn't - I still love my country, but - Serbia and politics - forget it.

Sorry for the downer - it's probably from the football Frown

Thaks everyone for appreciating pictures. It's funny that many people think their own country isn't so interesting (including me) and I must admit that i haven't been in all places on these pictures yet Blush. And we Czechs know that 90% of world population doesn't know about us and I don't care(something like Tolkien's Hobbits Smile ).

@viktor86: You can write czech quite well and for beers, my favourite is one you didn't mentioned - Radegast Wink
Right now I'm watching footbal and I'm sorry to say it but it doesn't look good with you Sad . Anyway I wish you luck in defeating Argentina!

I should be proclaimed a jinx and used for military purposes...all that joking about SEMO defeating Argentina backfired on me and not even just as the opposite - 5:0 for them, but add one more just in case! Frankly, now that it's over I don't care...and if the Ivory Coast 'prophecy' backfires on me as well (meaning - SEMO loses 7:1) I'll go and jump of a bridge - at least in Budapest I have a choice: not one, not two, but NINE beautiful bridges! Subotica didn't have any (probably because the nearest river was 40km away) and the ones in Belgrade are all ruined and shabby - some of them have always been, some of them from the bombing.

Anyway, prasopes1984, thanks for the wishes! By the way, I forgot to mention Radegast, it is really good, and I bought a couple of cans recently in Budapest - sat down by the Danube with some friends and watched the river flow while getting mildly intoxicated.

People from the thread, I'm sorry for the outburst - I read my post with a cooler head and it seemed a bit harsh (albeit, true), at least from my point of view. I didn't want to criticize anyone's linterest in politics - I just remembered watching football, how politics get everything dirty in my country, and its the kind of dirt that doesn't come off easily - not even with Vanish...people in Serbia are tired of unkept promisses, unfulfilled wishes and all. I know that politicians cheat sometimes (some more frequently than others) but when it's your sustenance that is brought beforehand as the question - it's not easy to turn a blind eye. I also know that every country has its 'black sheep' as a part of the politics scene - it just seems that in my country you can't find a white one.

Maybe I'll write about some of the major problems that I've faced during my growing-up in Serbia. The first fact being that I was born in a big country - SFRY - which then fell apart. I remained in SRY - which now fell apart as Montenegro declared independence. At least this 'break-up' didn't kill as many people as the one before it did. But it's sad nonetheless.

Well, that's about it. Have some nice taverning!

Hmmm. The Carpathians reach 2545 m in height in Romania. The highest altitude of the Carpathian Mountains is in Slovakia though where they go up till 2655m.

This is a picture of Tatra Mountains highest peak in Slovakia.

That "house in the snow" is actually PeleÅŸ Palace from Sinaia, which was the residence of the Romanian Royal Family until the communists came.
