Disclaimer: what follows is my opinion. Normally one would find this fact trivial due to this being text in a thread posted by somebody on a message board on the internet, but I have been asked to make this explicit.
In my opinion, nobody with an adequate mass of grey matter would buy any more of these games. The first was mediocre and all subsequent releases have been critical flops (in the opinion of myself and of professional critics - see www.metacritic.com). I think that these games are repetitious, of low quality, and essentially manufactured to generate as much profit from unsuspecting customers as possible. I also believe that on top of being derivative garbage, a few titles have even pushed the boundaries of the law; in particular the PC port which Ubisoft outsourced to Bulgaria, which, according to the online community here at least, literally did not function on any machine and Ubisoft Customer Support refused to rectify or even acknowledge any problem. The greatest tragedy of all is that these terrible (in my opinion) games have displaced development on actual Rayman games, which, despite being Ubisoft's mascot, have not actually seen a release in over 6 years. The Rayman series was extremely valuable; every aspect of production was brilliant: characters, music, gameplay, visuals, story, everything. In particular Michel Ancel's Rayman 2 is still hailed as one of the greatest games ever created. So really I think Ubisoft should be ashamed of themselves for what I see is a sinking even below the hypercommercialized nadir that is EA games, and the only two morsels of good news I can salvage from the announcement of the latest instalment in this worthless (in my opinion) franchise are the following: firstly that the games have finally shed the Rayman title - something they was never remotely worthy of, and an act which I dearly hope will finally open the way from some proper Rayman sequels to be developed - though after all these years I doubt it. And secondly, the fact that development has returned to the Montpellier studios, where they seem to be trying to wind the whole thing down by marketing the new game with the tagline 'the party is over' and a story, gameplay style, and title which would seem to reinforce this - which I sincerely hope is respective on their position. Um... what word is missing in-between those two words I bolded ("would" and "any")? Is it "buy"? I think so. --- "The right to do something does not mean doing it is right." -Some person ☻/ /▌ / \ This is Bob. He's saying Hi! |

I've seen better crap be made by Acclaim to be honest, and we're saying an awful lot here.
About the PC version of RRR1: I don't know how any game in the world could be so glitchy that you can't even install it properly. That really should be against the law, even if you're only paying 5 quid for it. There's nothing worse than buying a game and not being able to play it even if it's for the system you've got it for. IMO there hasn't been a decent Rayman game since 2003, and the last game to be really good was Rayman 3 for the GBA. And I think the handheld department is where it's really reeking with poor quality. Ever played TV party on the DS? If that isn't a sore attempt at being a Mario Party game with that boring as f*ck gameboard, I don't know what it is. I'd rather play Rayman kart than any more minigame crap, and that's just a silly little mobile game. Speaking of mobile games, didn't one of those rip Sonic Rush or something? It's one thing to be heavily influenced by other games [eg Super Mario World vs some other platformers] but that's really not cool man. Did you guys at Ubi honestly get permission from SEGA to use the source code for that? I also have a bad feeling that Rabbids Go Home is gonna suck badly. I've seen gameplay of it so far and it looks like you're just gonna swerve the trolley about and lose control at the worst possible time. What's wrong with the good ol' by-foot movement? Rabbids are likeable characters but most of their games just suck because of how poorly developed they are. Before I hear any defensive blabbering from a certain someone here, I want to ask her - have you played any of the DS games? If not, do so, and see for yourself on how cheap they are. I've been happy to just stick to WarioWare Touched [aka superior] for the time being. StaceyW- I am a Rayman fan therefore I *only* play Rayman games, sleep on hammocs, eat plums and drink plum juice and I'm *always* in fists fights, I with I could play basketball with my body too! >': |

How many Rabbids fans have played the platformers FIRST?
I think zero. |

It's really a shame how Ubisoft has done everything in their power to drag the Rayman series into the mud. It started with the deletion of the old forum and the disrespect they've shown towards the Rayman fans by ignoring their requests and not offering any solution for the problem of not having a forum for months. Add to that the lack of security provided that allowed the forum to get hacked repeatedly.
Then there were the Rabbids. Instead of the largely anticipated Rayman 4, they gave us a sub-par Minigame-collection. They had commercial success with it but the Rayman-fans were not amused. They started petition after petition for a real Rayman 4 and what happened? Ubisoft continues to produce Rabbids games and continues to ignore the fans and their protests. I haven't been here for a longer time but what I see is a clear example of Ubisoft's failure. The ugly design, the lack of reasonable sub-forums, the many pointless threads and the poor way the forum is managed (by pettiness and a low level of censorship). I realise that this post might not be here for long but the way Ubisoft as turned into a commercial dragon saddens me. Back in the days of Rayman 1, 2 or 3 I had the impression they cared for the fans. Nowadays they seem to care about nothing else than money. |

Hey Lobasuu, long time no see.
About the Rayman series, well, I can only agree with the above posts. I've recognised Ubisoft's horrendous lack of care for fans ever since they sheep-hoerded is into this random, ugly and poorly managed forum system. The community managers have always been less than acceptable and to be honest, the games have followed the same path. |

Whassup spiraldoor?
Ubi have just released a statement about BG&E2 by the way, saying that 'it's far from certain that it'll ever be released'. So I suppose the teaser trailer at the end of Ubidays was purely designed to **** everybody off. |

I personally found it interesting, while we're on the BGE2 subject, that UbiSoft released the official statement that the gameplay footage was actually a leak that they were investigating. That's according to the news on Escapist Magazine anyway.
But seriously, I still wonder why with the original Raving Rabbids, they were simply too lazy to change so much as the game ID, so it overwrites King Kong's stuff. I'm one of those people that happens to own the PC version of King Kong. |

God yeah, I almost forgot about that.
And you'd contact Ubi support and they'd just say 'there is nothing wrong with your game, please check your PC specs against this list', and it's like... ffs you cheapskates, it's an OBJECTIVE FACT that you've used the same two keys here. Ubi's still never acknowledged any problem, yet alone fixed it. I'd imagine it's because it was ported in some dunghole in Bulgaria which they opened entirely for making cheap (non functional) ports of games. It really is deplorable and actually illegal. If it was footage that was leaked for BG&E2 then they seem to be at least quite away into development. |

Ubi sure are good at getting things leaked aren't they?
Wow I feel kinda bad for everyone that really wanted BG&E now. StaceyW- I am a Rayman fan therefore I *only* play Rayman games, sleep on hammocs, eat plums and drink plum juice and I'm *always* in fists fights, I with I could play basketball with my body too! >': |
