can you make ladders shorter, so when i lift the ladder from the ground you dont see that ugly piece hanging in the air.
if i put the ladder to a piece in refinery brushset you need 2 ladders to come on the hihgest point but when i place the second ladder you can see a piece comming trough the floor it sugly :P

You can't make them shorter. The only way is to cover them with large brushes as you put the bottom part of the ladders inside large brushes. Most 'short' ladders in user made maps (Not by Ubisoft/Crytek), will have their ladders under the terrain by default or have a large brush covering it up. Though there are many mistakes where you will see ladders sticking out from the ceiling, under the large brushes. This proves players are trying to hide it.

And lastly, it's impossible to have it technically short if it's a few steps up but the ladder is cut off from between both ends.
