I just booted up farcry to my delight i had to accept the auto update. Well i am off to see how this game plays now with the update. And i would also like to say the wait is over - Thanks UBI and Thanks for the moderators here putting up with a lot of anger and grief. Hopefully there will be some good news from people now. I don't know about anything else yet but the controls are fixed! It feels like the old Far Cry we know and love! |

Anyway here's what I've noticed so far,
The controls are definitely fixed the whole game is faster the menus are faster map selection is faster You can change gametypes. A couple of minor things I've noticed that weren't fixed, When you host the old weapons still appear in your hands instead of the updated ones Objects (such as grenades, rockets etc.) still pass through the new large docks brush. |

I agree I was in a busy room and voice chat seemed fine, The weapon aim feels very natural and fluid, Everything does seem a little faster/smoother.
But Unfortunately for us European gamers the player lag is no different. Games Master TA said its something to do with the position in the world of the Ubi Servers, I didnt understand what he meant but he did try to explain. If I could host a half decent number of players then I would maybe try to show off maps that I think in my opinion are worth showing off. I feel I just have to keep on joining other peoples rooms or having rubbish games with max 6 players on small maps only if I host. I do not want to start crying or anything and am very grateful that the patch is released BUT it feels crazy having all these fixes but not been able to get a decent room going. This could be because I only have a 2meg connection - yet other games seem to handle a lot better. I guess if I want to play FarCry with more players then I need to pay more for a better connection speed. The plus side is Seek And Secure will hopefully start being played a lot more, Also most on my friends list seem to be playing FarCry tonight which is the first time in ages. Thanks Again. Look forward to joining your games sometime soon, If you have a decent connection. LOL |

Can't see why ubi's servers would have anything to do with it.
Xbox LIVE is peer to peer (obviously some games are an exception) So if yuor hosting a game with players from your part of the world it shouldn't be a problem. So you habe a 2meg connection is that up or down? |

No single player glitch fixes, aiming still feels overly sensitive in single player imo...one of the biggest reason i loved far cry instincts on xbox 1 was the single player
Predator's single player in comparison is glitchy garbage, im going to return this garbage to the store tommorow, insult me all you want about how single player doesnt matter and how i suck or whatever but i buy fps for single player first, multiplayer second No single player fixes = me taking this garbage back Gamertag - rottenkrist My game collection - http://club.ign.com/b/list/custom?&owner=DecayedMatter&&lid=100018 Myspace - http://www.myspace.com/decayed_matter |

Pleased that it's finally here...it's been a tough battle and a long wait for many in this community.
Disappointed in a few things not fixed by the patch (#1 & #2 we were hoping were being addressed, #3 I thought was being addressed)...ALL of these, I believe are still key to the long-term success of this game... 1) LAG...at least according to suggested number of players in a server. There were no changes there....i.e....I run between 384-400 kbps upload ...but it shows RED for 5 players...black for 6 under the reccmmendations (I regularly host 8 in COD2 and 8-10 in GRAW with no lag) Now the honest side...I haven't TRIED to host 8 yet...but I'm not hopeful at all based on the previous mentioned suggested "room size". THIS could be the final nail in the proverbial coffin for this game if the lag isn't truly fixed... 2) Ability to kick people from your room (we knew it wasn't in the list...but had hoped that it was being added during the "delay") 3) Inability to "join" people from your FL who show as being in the game...inability to INVITE people from your FL into dedicated servers... (kind of defeats the purpose of a FL don't ya think, Ubi?) Ah well....they now can say..."we gave you the patch"... Too bad it doesn't seem to be everything we had hoped for (maybe Infinity Ward spoiled us too much by actually FIXING everything that ailed COD2 for their customers/fans?) Also...potentially looks like between the poor demo...and NOT fixing many of these primary issues with the MP that Ubi might have killed this franchise after all.... (I hope not...but since average players cannot host as many as they can in other LIVE games...this one is now destined to finally die for the average player...or for those who don't have FL buddies with above-average broadband upload speeds.) As far as I can tell, the only reason they are paying any attention to this game is to try and smooth things out with the community before they launch the Wii Far Cry. We'll see how that plays out I guess, I am just glad Evolution never had the issues or I'd have been gone a long time ago, I don't blame you at all for being pissed phidave, but I guess now we can say at least they did try to fix it.

I see there is concern that lag wasn't fixed but also see people say they get very little lag at all with this game. The same difference was happing with GRAW causing bandwidth aurguments because of a number of people getting dropped from matches. Guys spouting off about how you got to have 6mb down and 3 mb up just to host 8 players. My buddy ChoadMaster has blow that aurgument out of the water! 3 360's playing off 1 router! And hosting 8-10! Played 8 hours staight with no lag and no players dropping. He dosen't know his connection speeds. He's in central Kentucky using Cox cable.
I'm not saying Farcry is perfect, but not all of the lag is due to the game. People have to learn how to set thier system up as best as possible. Here is a start. Something Mambo left us with and is hiding in the Evo forum. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1401015714/m/2261042034 TXB forum where XBL connection problems are discused alot. http://forum.teamxbox.com/forumdisplay.php?f=73 And my reconmendations to cable users. Alot of this I dug up from a massive AV forum http://www.avsforum.com/ Make sure you have good cables and splitters. From were the cable enters your home, you should have no more than one splitter between the wall plate and the cable modem. The spitter Has to be in the 5-1000 MHz range. It can go higher but has to go down to five. 5-40 MHz is the upload range. Cables need to be RG6 not RG59. If the cable from the pole to the house is bad, bug your cable company to fix it. The cable from the wall to the modem you can replace if it's questionable. And don't rely on speed test on your PC. They don't show packet loss. Pc's are forgiving while the 360 isn't on packet loss. A bad or poorly set up sytem will cause you problems. If you wana play next-gen games, you got to have the setup to handle them. |

Mate if u play day in day out with the same group of people and every game is fine except 1 ... it obviously has nothing to do with peoples connections and rests solely on the net code of the game causing the problem. The issue here is that some people seem to consider a certain level of lag acceptable and therefore report no lag which is a load of BS, with the speeds of most peoples connections these days and especially when ur playing with people from ur local region only we should be able to expect smooth gaming and it just doesnt happen here. I aint gonna comment on the patch itself as I havent tested it yet, this was just a general comment towards ur poeple need to setup their connections properly |

This is really getting ridiculous. Some of you simply want to brush off the technical explanations for lag, simply because "well every other game plays well". It's not quite that simple, as various people have tried to point out several times.
Like I've said, in about 90% of the matches I host, I don't experience any significant problem with lag. That's my personal experience. I cannot speak for everyone else who is playing in my session - obviously its possible for people to experience different degrees of lag. I'm just getting a little tired of people basically being accused of lying when they say that for them, lag isn't really a problem. A follow-up to my earlier post (and a bit related to a number of yours since)...
Well it seems as if the lag is fixed or at least "better". I both hosted and attended another's room and saw little to no lag. In fact...since this game launched i have not been able to host more than 6 without lag. Tonight I ran 8...NO LAG!!! (long download times on my maps...but that's a different story...and BTW...I ran 8-10 in FCI...so I'm pleased to be almost back to that poinT!) I'm actually pleased at this point...and now am just ready to play... Brim...I'm looking forward to your Tuesday get-together. i think it will be a blast!
