i saw these in the patch loader post that was just closed. what are they? the only patch beyond the official ones i knew about were docseal's 1.41 and the 64 bit for 32 bit content pack. are these (and the 1.42) things i should have?

I never knew anyone who used XT. I assume it is a mod and not a true patch (as is 1.41)

XT is a multiplayer mod that changes the style of gameplay.

Some players like it others dont, same as any mod really. When you connect to servers, they state if they are an XT server or not. The community run 60% official patched and 40% XT servers. the loader just makes it easy for you to switch between them.

thanks. i guess i don't need it then. multiplayer is always an afterthought for me in games. far cry multi didn't impress me enough to make me want to do battle with cd keys and the retarded speed mods that were rampant back in the days when i played online every now and again.
