Hey dont worry about him. Your always gonna meet *******s like that as you go through life. If hes got a problem he can hang it in his *ss. Theres no problem with girls that play games. All girls have the right to play games and not get judged. Just forget u ever met him, keep ur head high, and keep living life like ur dying. Chances are... youll never even see him again.
So you're mad that they were curious about something or someone they have never saw? Maybe its a good thing that "those" people are trying to get to know you instead of immediately harassing you about your gender and your favorite hobby. Maybe you have educated "those" people about girl gamers. I mean isn't that what Frag Dolls are suppose to do?
Man I love Lumines, but seriously only 75k? Wait til you max out the scoreboard, at 999,999
As a developer I often get a similar barrage of uninformed questions. As soon as some people find out I am a video game engineer the standard set of questions like "So do you just play games all day? That must be SWEET.", "Why aren't you really fat?" and "I didn't think video game developers ever had girlfriends" come out.
This guy sounds like a Grade A idiot. At least you had snowboarding to take your mind off him
while his questions and attitude might have been a bit offputting, I don't think (from the information you've provided) that his intention was to make you feel that way at all. It does seem that he was just generally curious and he probably had a crush thing going on too. And, honestly, girl gamers and sporters are themselves pretty rare still, and the combination of the two is even more rare.
While he should've presented his admiration and curiosity in a more classy manner, I think it was honestly just that: Admiration and curiosity. I don't think it would be fair to label him an @$$hole or any other foul words.
STOP IT. THIS IS YOUR PAIN. THIS IS YOUR BURNING HAND. IT'S RIGHT HERE.
I would have just f*cked with him. Like tell him that you are deathly afraid of having children because they will take over the console and you won't get to play so you have an irresistable urge to bite off the balls of any male who walks within 6 feet of you.
LOL! I meet people like this all the time. Most just offer up surprised expressions, but the rest are all about the incessant bizarre questioning. The "what else do people like you do" questions make me think that he was absolutely hitting on you.
Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one out there bumping into the uninformed masses.

no no, don't get me wrong. i wasn't MAD per say. i was totally polite to him, answered all his questions as best as i could. and you're right, i was glad to have helped make him a more worldy person.
what i wrote in my blog was more of my thoughts b/c even though i've met so many ignorant people, i don't think any of them were as "interesting" as this guy. i mean, for goodness sakes, he said he didn't eve know girls who did sports!! hello?!
I have the same problem everyday in my own house! Lets just say my family is really old fashioned. My brothers are all younger than me so there kinda going through this "boys rule" faze and i think its cause of their little friends they hang out with. When they come over its always "why is your sister playing video games?" or "I bet I can beat you on GH!" oh man and even "stop playing games and get a boyfriend!" I hate those kids... luckily my sister supports me so its ok lol ^_^.
