Any fellow female gamers here that were looking forward to MW2 for the PC only to have been disappointed with the latest developments?

I don't think there's a lot of people here who were looking forward to the PC only version.

I hear there's an angry internet petition going on to 'make' them put dedicated servers back into the game. Those always work.

I am also a pc only gamer but I'm not ****ed since I wasn't going to buy the game anyway. Activision screwed me with Prototype, (it had no sound on my pc) the store I bought from didn't accept returns so I am not buying MW2. I am not an fps gamer anyway. Last fps I bought was Mirror's Edge just because it had simulacra with Orwell's 1984.

I am a PC gamer(for the most part) and I've always played my CoD games on PC. This one will be no different. I've read the benefits of the new system they are putting in place of the dedicated servers and I like what it has to offer. Plus it allows IW to have more control over hackers since that's the one thing that stinks about PC gaming.

I'm excited to see the new changes. It's basically going to be IW's version of Steam in a way.

well i migrated from pc to console and this kinda makes me laugh. I like how they are going to be using VAC. I hated punkbuster and i always had problems updating while playing MW. I don't care much for VAC since plenty of people i know still hack all they want on VAC. but whatever, I'm getting the 360 version since my pc barely played l4d.

Heck yeah! I am really looking forward to MW2. I do like the PC version but majority of players will be playing on xbox live for sure.

My LAN buddies have all picked up PS3s since the price drop so this will be the first CoD I don't get for PC (excluding CoD3). It'll be nice to be on a level playing field instead of playing on a desktop running 91fps against a bunch of laptop users struggling to get 30fps.

Your question wasn't really directed at me because I am also of the penissed persuasion. Let me ask you this - Are you a female gamer that was looking forward to MW2 for the PC only to have been disappointed with the latest developments? or some kind of shill?

can't wait for MW2 but haven't seen any updates for 3 months because I had no internet. Not really sure how people can live without internet these days it was so painful.

Wow, long time since I've posted here but this has been my topic lately.

As a PC gamer I signed the online petition, not that I expect it to amount to anything. I'm not going to buy the PC version without dedicated servers so unless they patch it I'm out of luck. A dedicated server, which we've had for 15ish years will be replaced with Timmys p2p eMachine & 5 torrents, I can't wait to attempt to play an action packed 2v2 match on that. Those 48 man servers and sub 40 pings were weak anyways....

I am a female gamer that is very disappointed with the latest developments, but as well as being a PC Gamer I am also an Xbox Gamer, I would have been buying MW2 for both platforms, however now I won't be buying it for either.

I completely understand them wanting to ensure a high quality gaming experience for the majority of users, but did they really have to completely remove dedicated server support? Can't they have both? Seriously, the ability to run mods can extend the life of a game exponentially, and quite frankly some very good games would never exist in their current form if not for mods.

Sure, companies like IW don't necessarily owe anything to the people that were dedicated enough to keep their games alive as long as they do, but they shouldn't completely snub those fans, either.

I will still probably pick up MW2, but not before it drops way in price.

Oh yeah, also, **** Actision for raising the price of the PC version by $10. **** them right in their ears.

WTB Assassin's Creed 2 and Bioshock 2.

Gawd, also some OC.

Mikevolta still lurking around.
wassup dude?

I just paid off the xbox version yesterday. Can't wait for it.

I am kind of lost on the whole dedicated servers thing. Supposedly they are creating Internal servers which will allow you to get a game instantly but has a stronger anti-cheating process working within it.
Whats so bad about that?

Or is it just that you cannot mod the game anymore according to rumors.

No matter what, from what I have read they have completely addressed all of the issues I had for the game last time.

That spells WIN to me.

You know, I was going to type out a bit, but I think I can summarize this very neatly:

IW is taking a good system that allows a lot of freedom, and they're replacing the cool features that were already present with different cool features instead of adding them both in.

In short: speculation is that it will cripple some of the freedom and clan abilities (specifically in the area of increased lag when players are spread across the country or world,) of the previous system in favor for a system that will allow the casual gamer to join games with less of a learning curve. And if you've never played a game with dedicated servers, the people that care about their servers run them better than the company that makes the game. I **** you not, I played on some Enemy Territory servers where assholes were kicked and banned on the spot.

If you can wade through the bull****, there are a few good points brought up here that, imo, IW should take into account (and if they have, maybe an explanation for why?)

Also, the price for the PC version is still $60. I will never let that one die.

I said this in IRC a few days ago & I'll say it here too...

This sounds to me like nothing but a vocal minority whining because they don't want to accept change.

How dare Infinity Ward want to take steps to prevent hackers and pirates?!?

Oh & for the people complaining about the price, I say the same thing I say to anyone complaining about the price of games...

You picked an expensive hobby. Deal with it.
