So with Halloween coming up soon, what movies will you be watching an which do you recommend.

For me I think it is a classic slasher halloween for me. So greats like Halloween, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on elm street(all the classics and not the ****ty remakes) are all in the cards.

I do also recommend Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
You can catch it on Netflix Instant Stream.
A take on a world where Jason, freddy and mike myers exists. A mockumentary where a journalist and camera crew follow around an up and coming slasher legend as he shows the secrets of the trade, scouting the victims and setting up the house and traps. Great movie for those who love the classic slasher formula with a twist.

I watched "Splinter" last week on Netflix, instant queue. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

I also have a fondness for "Sleepy Hollow" with Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci.

The Original Dawn of the Dead and the First Evil Dead are always solid horror choices

Cannibal Holocaust. One of the freakiest horror films EVER made.
Rumored to have actually killed the unknown actors who starred in the film.

Seriously gorey also.

I watched chopping mall. Horrible movie but fun in a weird sort of way.

You really can't go wrong with Hellraiser. I'm itching to watch Night of the Living Dead. (black and white version again)

Feast and Feast 2 are great movies and Pulse is wierd.

So I mentioned Cannibal Holocaust.
That film was so indelible that it never truly leaves you.
Now this film was banned in many many countries and the director was in fact prosecuted.

WARNING NSFW!!! Full nudity and gore.

Here is a review.

Here is the Italian Trailer

Man watching the trailer brought back memories that I thought I had blocked out.

Scary, freaky film.
The original Blair Witch style film.

I heard about Cannible Holocaust. They butchered real animals in the film. I didn't hear about killing real cast members.

I hear Philosophy of a Knife and the Guinea Pig films are pretty bad, too. Although, after listening to the review you posted, I was very unaware Cannibal Holocaust was anything more than a snuff film.

my biggest issue with Audition is that it's an extremely dull movie. It's only redeeming value(though it's a pretty big one) is the super intense torture scene at the end. the rest of the movie is extremely slow.

Yeah as the review stated, the Directors mixing of real and fake death is what caused the uproar. When they were going to prosicute him for killing the cast, he had them come out of hiding so he wouldn't go to jail.
He had paid them to go into hiding for a year.

Suspiria is another classic.

just watched Phantasm for the gazillionth time the other day. Thats another classic.

It was pretty slow but I loved how gory it was and the fact that Asami has the ultimate power and control in the movie.

I like similar movies like Misery, Hard Candy, and Death and the Maiden

According the Wiki, The Descent 2 is coming out in December of this year, but in London. It won't take long to get here though.

I stopped watching the Saw movies for their story after the 3rd one. Now I just watch for the different death scenes, similar to the Final Destination movies. I will wait for this next sequel to hit DVD though.

Thanks for the awesome sig Phin!
