check out the trailer for Where the Wild Things Are

the film adaptation of the Maurice Sendak 1963 children’s book.

Directed by Spike Jonze staring Catherine Keener, James Gandolfini, Forest Whitaker and Catherine O’Hara.

I loved that book when I was a kid. Heart

Oh, wow. That looks really good, and that song by Arcade Fire goes great with the trailer.

Yeah I actually want to see this film.
This was one of my favorite books when I was little. It helped to not only teach me to read, but also to open me up to Fantasy in general.

Points for using the Arcade Fire.

My son doesn't really care for the book and when I went to the movies last night and saw the trailer I wasn't that impressed. We will probably wait for it to come out on DVD.

I just don't see how they could make a movie out of a book that is so short. It will be interesting how the movie does.

From the trailer it seems like it will focus more on emotions. Which is what im all about- I love sincere storylines.

But that could just be the influence of the Arcade Fire song.

Bwa haha!

Seriously though, I'm pretty pumped about it. I loooooooved that book when I was a kid, and I recently picked it up to read to my daughter... once she stops trying to put the book in her mouth.

I frag on the first date.

I'm glad this is finally coming out - it was all tied up in argument with the studios and production company or some other entity that stops good ideas from happening - It's got Dave Eggers and Spike involved... I am looking forward to it!

I saw this movie a few days ago and it has really stuck with me. I find myself remembering this or that part of the movie, almost out of the blue.

The subtlety of the main character's development almost slapped me in the face in a very unsubtle way.

I think this is a movie that many people will interpret in many different ways. Just like a good painting.

For me, this movie is a masterpiece.

A couple of friends went to see this. They enjoyed it, the kids not so much. They were a little scared.
the film does focus on emotions and seems more geared to waking adults up to things.

I am exited. I may hit a matinee today.

I remember watching this trailer before heading to work and it made me cry warm tears of joy so thanks for that, and I don't even know about the children's book.

A freind of mine told me there were too many hipster wisecracks and the critters didn't work spread into a two hour movie. Him wrong?

Frankly I'm just curious to go see it to see how spike jonz does directing a movie.

Yeah, him wrong. For one thing, it's only an hour and 41 minutes long.

You're aware he's made other movies before, right?
