Trailer for the reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street is out. It stars Jackie Earl Haley who you all remember as the AWESOME Rorchach in WATCHMEN playing as the new Freddy Kruger.

hehe. NMOES was horrible good. I hope this one does not take itself to seriously.

I still remember that creepy song. While I did enjoy the NMOE series as a kid the remake isn't really on my to see list. The kids will probably like it though.

I was disappointed by the trailer. :/ I still pray that it's good because Freddy scared the begesus out of me when I was younger.

The first Chucky was scary too.


On the topic of scary movies has anyone seen REC? It's a spanish horror.

I've seen [REC]. Qurantine is pretty much the same thing. almost exactly. couple of different scenes, but they don't really contribute anything storywise.


Couple things about this. I'm a pretty big Nightmare on elm street fan. Expo, as I'm sure you know, the general trend of horror's in the 80's is that they really didn't take themselves too seriously, though in the NMOES series that trend really didnt catch on till about the 3rd or 4th movie (Welcome to primetime, bitch anyone?) *gets back to point* the trend in horror now is much different so this movie probably will tend to be more serious in tone even if it can't execute. I think the inclusion of Jackie Earl Haley is a sign of that. It could be a good thing, I mean the trailer didn't make the movie look terrible, nothing like that piece of **** Friday the 13th remake

Judging on the glimpse we see of Freddy in the trailer, he looks more like a burn victim than ever, but I don't think I'm really getting the distinct Freddy vibe just yet, I guess we'll have to wait and see. It looks worth a watch at least!

haha. Well I was a big fan of Bad News Bears as a kid. Plus he has one of those faces you tend not to forget.

Most horror films suck these days. For some reason though, this one looks better than most.

REC is pretty awesome movie. The sequel [REC 2] Releases this week in spain. I am intrigued to see it.

I'm also intrigued to see which death scenes they replicate from the first. I noticed the death of the blonde girl was starting the same way. Then other little things like the Claw glove in the bathtub between Nancy's legs. I'm actually pretty excited to see this now, though I know I'll probably be disappointed

I thought the trailer was awful and didn't capture the spirit of Nightmare on Elm Street at all. The filmmakers have literally an endless amount of potential with this dark figure and yet they choose to resort to a shameless remake/reimagining that reeks of mediocrity.

Knowing the mainstream moviegoers, I'd say that they'll eat this one up. Those of us who are true fans of this iconic horror series will be disappointed, because it brings nothing new to the formula.

I just saw Quarentine the other day.
THat was a pretty cool flick. I guess I don't need to see [REC] since it is the same.

The trailer makes the movie look surprisingly decent, although I hope they don't move away from the series' dark humor.

Jackie Earl Haley was a great choice for Freddy, though. Anyone that's seen Little Children knows how creepy and weird he can be.

although i probably won't go so see it unless i'm movie hopping and theres nothing else, the trailer at least makes it look ok. There really isn't a reason to remake it though. NMOES was good but the series just like most after a certain amount starts to get worse, but if the saw series proves anything its that people just want to see blood.

True dat. The first movie that came to mind was of course, Bad News Bears but than I immediately thought of Little Children and said, He will make a perfect Freddy.
