This is one of my favorite games and one of my favorite game characters of all time. For years, Ancel has been talking about a sequel and for years the 25 people who actually played the original have been cautiously optimistic. But this is the closest we've come to an official "announcement."
Essentially, Ancel leaked/announced that he's been in pre-production on BG&E 2 for the last year. It just hasn't gotten the "green light" for full production from Ubisoft.
There were some strange rumors flying around last fall and then again a month or two ago, when PC Gamer published this strange image.
Anyway, the BG&E Forums are all a-twitter. I just really hope the game gets made or I'll be a sad guppy.

He may have better luck if he renames it: "Tom Clancy's Beyond Good and Evilz".
Jeez Lirael, with this and Stubbs (and maybe Viva Pinata 2), you're making me want to throw about more money than I have! On top of that for games I wanted already anyway...

Haha. Sorry, Raiden. I'm like a shill for underappreciated games these days. While I'm at it, everyone go buy Psychonauts! And Klonoa. And Ico.

Ah, I got Ico ages ago. And, another time, Shadow of the Colossus. With artwork cards. For about a tenner (um, ten pounds in case you've never heard/seen the word tenner).
I was pleased with my bargain spotting ways that day, let me tell you!

oooo that makes me so excited, by far one of my fav games of all time too. Funny how it was such a failure at launch then slowly over time finally got the hype it deserved- when no more copies where being made. I bet the next one will be HUGE!
Ooooh a second game would be awesome! Loved the first one and it's soundtrack too. You had to nod along to the Propaganda Song ! But yeah, the game is cheap to pick up now. Bonus!

the pig is Jades main sidekick and a big charater in the game.
This trailer seems a little "Kill Bill" set up to me. They started off with "The Pig" and I bet they are going to release things like this for all the main characters- which would mean that they must all have a big gang up fight at the end!!
But of course i can only hypothesis but you may see alot of that for me- this was one of my fav's of all time!!!
and wow those graphics are a ton more advanced then the first one. No more cartoon look which is kinda neat in this one!!
Calyber_FD, I heard that it's ingame engine. Luckily I will upgrade my pc next year. I bet we will need at least 8800gt to play it on medium settings. You console people are lucky.
By the way I hope the game won't turn out to be a Raving Rabbids clone else I will burn down Montpellier studio.
It would be cool if that's what the game looked like, but I somehow doubt it. I just hope this game isn't one big hype train. Ubi knew the response this title would receive from the fanbase of the previous one (if only the original sold better). I've heard some rumors that mechanics of this one will be more streamlined and more geared to a larger audience (don't screw this up, Ubi).
As for the announcement trailer...I found this a bit dull, though I'm sure they'll have more for us soon. I just hope it lives up to the last one.
Yeah, I know the feeling. Psychonauts was the same way. I can proudly say though that I bought both launch day, and enjoyed both of them, despite the "best game no one played" labels. But anyway, I'm pumped up for BGE 2, totally. And I'm hoping they have better luck this time.
