I for one will not be missing the cad. Any man who openly states that he sees no problem sharing his bed with boys has serious problems, star or not.

While I was there I got all nostalgic about Captain Eo. That little 3D film was one of a few influential pieces of sci-fi during my early years, and it's certainly one of my favorite ways to remember MJ.

So for those of you who ever got to see Captain Eo at one of the Disney parks, or even if you never got to see it, I dug it up for us.

Captain Eo - Part 1

Captain Eo - Part 2

These forums could benefit from some of MJ's magic music power. We have some crankies around here who need to have their inner flamboyantly-dressed dancers unlocked. Razz

I so remember when Captain Eo first came out, I was one of the first kids at my school to see it that summer. They made a stuffed animal doll of his sidekick and I had it. When friends came over there were like "What is that?" and I was like, "It's from Captain Eo" and everyone was like "You saw it!? Was it cool!"

I stole the 3D glasses.

I remember when I was a kid, my mom INSISTED we all go to dinseyland specifically so she could go see captain EO. Of course me and my brother were not going to argue with her LOL. I still remember sitting in that little spaceship theatre with a big old pepsi watching that movie and being sad when it was over.

As for my thoughts on MJ... Everyone in the 80's loved Jackson, there's not a corner in the world they haven't heard of him, and even my mom was nuts about him in the 80's. I've heard 17 year old potheads proclaiming that Jackson has had absolutely no cultural impact, whilst they listen to music that was clearly his spawn. I can only imagine what the man did for American prestige in the 80's and what role that's had in shaping the modern world. I'm saddened he died. I had heard he had tour dates coming up in Europe, so it seems to have taken even him by surprise.

At the same time that sadness is tempered with an understanding that he really didn't belong in this world. He was a deeply troubled and psychologically scarred man. He spent his life trying to chase the happy childhood that had eluded him and now that torture is over for him. I cannot say if he was warped, or if he was childlike and innocent and we who belong in this grimy cynical world could not understand him. Only his accusers know the answer for certain. Either way he was different than us and that made many of us uncomfortable. We crucified him under public opinion. To go so quickly from loved and cheered to reviled and mocked could not have been easy on his delicate psyche. And if he was in fact innocent then it is a true tragedy. He was a brilliant artist either way.

Ive been trying to register for the MJ Memorial service but the Staplecenter website has crashed. It lets me fill out the form, but when I submit it says, "Service Unavailable"

:/

I probably wouldnt get selected anywayz, only 17,000 tickets are available.

Watching it from our homes might be the best way...It makes me a little nervous being in a building with so many devastated fans. I can imagine traffic being a nightmare.

They'll need extra police as well, with califronia's current budget crisis people are wondering where the 500 million dollars for the preceedings will come from.

I'm not sure if the tickets are free, but considering the amount of overtime its going to cost californians, I think they should charge for the tickets. I know it sounds classless, but people have to realize to put something this big together in such a sort time is going to cost BIG money. Plus, the money would go toward supporting the memorial.

Nope.

Tomorrow is the memorial...after that the news will start focusing on the battle for the kids and the doctors giving michael meds he didnt need.

I recommend not turning on the news for at least a year if you arent interested.
