I was at work when I heard, I got texts about it from about a dozen people, and pretty much every customer after that mentioned it.

It is a sad day, as I was always a big MJ fan, and I'll probably dig up some of my old CDs and give them a listen tonight.

That said, I do find it a little disturbing that we already have a 3 page thread for MJ's death, but nothing about the current situation in Iran. I feel compelled to get the ball rolling...

Then create the thread so I can move everyones war comments into it. People are allowed to mourn about more then one thing...It is possible. Today I choose to mourn Michael, tomorrow maybe the war or possibly plane crash victims. I just know no one is going to make me feel bad for feeling sick to my stomach sad about Michael dying.

I remember sitting with my little sisters watching MTV marathons of MJ videos and his video movies like Thriller. The first thing we did was call each other when we all found out.

I think it's more than just about the man dying it's the memories music tends to trigger in us. It's like the day the music died..three music legends and the world stood still. Nothing he may or may not have done can ever take away the fact that he was a musical and performing genius.

Thanks for the awesome sig Phin!

I only remember Free Willy, mainly because of Michael Jackson. I watched that movie a ton when I was a kid on VHS, and the part I looked forward to the most was the end.

I glad to see so many people. He brings out a lot of love in people through his music and in the end Love is what's most important.

Yep and it only took 3 pages, and someone to suggest a thing.

You don't have to respect the man, but you can recognize his art. Michael in some way shape or form has been in our lives for awhile and his influence has been felt throughout the world.

Each and everyone of us knows a lyric from at least one song, and I'm sure some of us can perform some of his world famous dance moves.

In the past he tried to heal the world (i.e. We Are the World campaign) and he has accomplished what no musical artist has been able to duplicate.

With renown so far reached, how could not miss him?

Guess the hyperbaric chamber wasn't enough eh?

The man touched many lives, for good or ill. Certainly invokes a large commentary on society's willingness to forgive, or turn a blind eye to, men and women who entertain.

So the moment i heard 'ol MJ died earlier, i jumped on google to find the perfect image to paint on a shirt. I figure someone would pay for a shirt of him now that he's gone.

But, as i sat there looking through the images, i came to realize more than ever just how much of a whacko freak he really was.

don't get me wrong i loved his music. And know most of his lyrics.
But sitting there looking at the pictures of this good looking black kid as he grows up to become a scary ugly white man who sleeps in a hyperbaric chamber and has conversations about he feels different from everyone else with John Merrick's remains.(that's the Elephant man BTW)
It just really hit home.
He completely destroyed himself with all of the surgeries.
Additionally he did have the whole issue with kids which i cannot stand. Plus hanging his son -Blanket over the railing of his hotel and nearly dropping him. Angry Blue Guy Googly

Well the picture i decided to use was one of MJ in full zombie getup from the Thriller video.
Except i have him climbing out of his own grave with his tattered glove and red zipper jacket.
It says the Thriller is gone down at the bottom.

I will post it tomorrow. It got a lot of positive comments from the tourists.

Sadder still the first love of my life, Farrah Fawcett died today. Sad Eyes Crying

Now to go and talk about Iran.

Farrah and MJ gone in one day, very sad. I didn't really respect MJ in his older years but he did make some great music and was a HUGE world icon. Just a surprise to hear he died so...sudden.

And poor Farrah who struggled with cancer Frown Just a sad day.
