I was always hoping there would be an Oscar category for action movies or at least more nominations of action/scifi/horror movies in general.

I've only seen wrestling movies get nominated/win but never some great ensemble actions/scifi/horror movies. And definitely Stallone is a huge talent I just don't think anyone has ever truly seen him as anything other than an action star and he hasn't gotten the roles that really help his dramatic career.

I liked Cop Land and it was critically acclaimed by a few but it failed in the box office and I remember at the time not too many people enjoyed it.

On Wikiit states that Stallone said it hurt his career on the Opie and Anthony Show.

The sad thing is I think it's harder for male action stars to branch out of that category than it is for female action starts, which I guess is a reversal from the usual Hollywood trends that benefit male actors.
