This is why I never made an intro thread. Maybe it's my "other nature" getting to me, but I subscribe to the "lurk moar" policy and lurked for a few months before I posted a single comment (and so far only about four new threads.) I had this feeling that--as a guy posting an introduction (which is too touchy-feely for a man's man, anyway... YEAH!)--I'd likely be met with a few rude comments. Which, quite frankly, if they're funny I'm okay with that. But only if they're funny. And no, reposting the same three "cool story, bro" pics is not funny, it's tired. |

Ubi started a General Discussion forum for anything not related to any of their games that do not already have a forum earlier this year. It is fairly dead too. A really big picture thread was moved from a forum to it and said thread has about died.
It mostly attracts spammers trying to sell their wares and crap. I see BTOG beat me posting about the GD forum.   "Do not build your community around a game.... Ah, so I was wrong. That's cool. Like I said, I almost never venture beyond this forum on the Ubi site.
Edit: Just glanced at the forum list on here & two things jumped out at me... 1) Despite another game just launching, there's still no CSI forum. I'm afraid of what this will mean for our board. and, 2) There are still people posting on the Haze forum... wow. |

Ok, as much as I like Brooke, and thinks shes a cool cat, I don't always agree with what she thinks or says. What you guys see as a rude response, isn't seen the same to others. That was barely even rude, but if you think so, that's all you.
You're 27, married with a child, but that is by your choice. You've gone through a wedding, and having your wife pregnant for 9 months solely based on your choice. Good for you. Seriously, that's good. Even better if you're happy about it. I really like happy stories. I will quote something Jinx said a while back shortly after ECLP about the internet that people should remember. "you need to be thick skinned to survive the internet" This isn't that serious as people think. Well except Doc, being a douche bag. Also check out Annie Marie's blog on Halloween. It has that cool Borderlands pumpkin carving.   |

I thought that the General Discussion section was to discuss Ubisoft stuff that didn't pertain to the other forums ---------------- Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft. |

Like I said before I honestly don't care anymore lol. I'm just letting you know how you and some of the elites around here come off to new members that don't know you. I've seen trolling on this forum and I've seen people come here just to bash the FD's and start trouble and I did none of that. In the end I'm just saying that if you want a bigger community it might be better to treat new people like any other member until they actually do something worthy of getting the ban hammer. I totally agree with the thick skinned comment which is why I'm still here lol. I only brought up the age, married and kid part because you were talking down to me saying you should talk to me like a child and thats just uncalled for in a simple discussion ---------------- Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? I'm just saying this but you came off awfully hurt-sounding in earlier posts...I dunno, but maybe you do need a little thicker skin. Like maybe laughing off the sarcasm of the older "elite" members. I mean, do the so-called "elites" really mean to be a-holes, or are they just trying to be funny and sarcastic? 'Cuz I always thought that's what they were trying to be...Maybe I've just been gone long enough that I haven't seen them truly run any new members off...   |

I thought we got over this and started over lol. It really doesn't bother me, I was just agreeing with an earlier post and trying to backup my opinion. Can't let people know whats going on if you don't speak out. I really think your missing my whole point that I was trying to make. New members don't always understand the sense of humor of the older members and if any forum wants to stay strong then you gotta start with your newest members and treat them with respect unless they absolutely do not deserve it lol

I agree you need a thick skin when dealing with people on the internet, but in Screenamesuck case and a lot of new comers cases there is always rude remarks being made at anything they say. Ppl need to lay off eventually because it gets old fast. The comments arent even directed at me and I feel myself getting exhausted just reading them.
Also, why in the world would anyone want to stay in these forums if they are being bashed everytime they post?   |
