I have my likes and dislikes with the Playstation Network. Multiplayer is usually pretty good for most games (sweet for the ones with dedicated servers), but their content and download speeds for the store can drive me nuts. I wish they updated it more. It's usually only on Thursday's, and by then I've usually already grabbed it is from the XBL Marketplace. And the download speeds from the store are hit and miss. I like the customizable layout and how easy it is to get from one area to another. |

Reasons not to buy a PSP Go:
1. It's massively over-priced. I have no doubt that price is so high to appease retailers who know that a digital-only console means they'll get no profits on the unit from future software sales. 2. There's a lot of PSP games you can't even play on it, there's around 200 downloadable PSP games available right now, that's a fraction of the stuff that was available on UMD. EVERY GAME NEEDS TO BE ON PSN 3. It doesn't play your games and Sony have no way to covert physical purchases to digital ones, which is ridiculous. 4. Digital releases are over-priced and rarely, if ever, on sale. Why pay the same price for a digital copy of a game when ow can get a physical one, with nice packaging and artwork for the same price? And most people can just go ahead and rip the game to their memory stick and play it digitally anyway. I could probably go on but yeah, I see no compelling reason to buy a PSP Go. it's smaller which is nice but the PSP-2000 is already pretty small. It has a clock? meh. Being able to save and quit out of a game is pretty neat but not a major thing. Bluetooth support is probably the most interesting feature but you can already hook a PSP up to a big screen and play with a DS3 via PC anyway. PSP is an amazing handheld and everyone who considers themselves a gamer should have one, just not a PSP Go. --------------------------------------- PSN: Ninja_Kn1ght // Xbox Live: Ninja Kn1ght // Twitter.com/Adam3001 |

I am getting one, maybe this weekend. I understand everyones rants on the handheld, but it is a 50/50. If you already own a PSP, then there is no need to get a PSPGo. However, if you are like me, in which I never owned a PSP, then the PSPGo would probably be a great choice, because it is UMD-less, so there's no need to worry about the discs. However, if I had a PSP or PSP-3000, then I'd keep it, because I doubt sony is going to cut the UMD games out yet.

Even when Sony does stop manufacturing UMDs (and it will happen, don't kid yourself), it's not like the old PSPs don't support the digital downloads.
Honestly, I wish they updated it more too, even as someone who doesn't have a PS3 because a lot of 360 DLC & Demos get held back until Thursdays so that they can launch simultaneously on both platforms. |

I'm surprised I'm the first person to mention this in this thread, but:
You can't play used games on the PSPgo. FAIL. (Or WIN, if you're a short-sighted game studio.) |

The PSPGO has gotten **** reviews.
*Its overpriced *No UMD Options *The DL games are priced higher on that network than they are on the iphone. *Bad button placement There is a lot more, but I recommend reading the review it got from the entire editorial staff at ign. Stick with your old one. I forgot. No multiplayer. Buy an ipod touch. Its a $100 cheaper and the games are sweet looking plus it plays movies. Also the PSPGO has a permanently installed battery. so when it is no longer able to charge, your screwed. |

I'm the same, unless it's an older game that I can't find new but those are pretty rare. I own maybe half a dozen used games across all of my systems.
I'm sorry, but the PSP Minis, as they're called, are not the reason anyone is going to be buying a PSP Go. If they want those kinds of games, they're going to be getting an iPhone/iPod Touch. People are buying a PSP for the retail games (which do have multiplayer), which naturally are priced higher because they have a lot longer development time & budget. Besides, with regards to the multiplayer in the PSP Minis, it's something that could be added in the future. To the best of my knowledge (and I could be wrong about this), Multiplayer wasn't offered on the iPod Touch/iPhone until the 3.0 update that just came out in June.
PSP (and I'm therefore assuming the PSP Go as well) can play movies too. They actually look pretty good on it.
That's exactly the same situation on the iPhone/iPod Touch. |
