Is anyone picking up the PSPgo? If so, I want to know your thoughts on the new handheld.

I'm considering it. I already have an oldschool launch PSP, and I love it, but would the upgrade be worth $250? That's the question that keeps running through my mind.

If it manages to get some uber fantastically awesome games that I can't get with my regular PSP, then I'll get it asap. Otherwise, I'll wait and see if it's really worth it.

The idea of the PSPGO is very intriguing to me. Finally having a hand held where you can purchase your games straight from the playstation store (actually the only way) is great in concept. It would mean I would never have to run to a store and worry about the game selling out. Also gives the user the option to purchase whenever they want.
On the downside, for those upgrading in North America, there is no program for if you already bought the game you can download it at no cost. This is a real turn off to those people who may have had interest in upgrading. Also retailers will probably be cutting back on stocking PSP games making it harder to find them unless you search online.
There is not enough on the psp to warrant a 250 dollar purchase here. Hell, you can get a ps3 slim for 299.99 now.

Yeah the price tag is whats stopping me right now. $249.99 is just too much for a handheld. If it was a phone too then maybe but as of now its too expensive for what it offers.

I never got a PSP back during its launch so I won't be getting this new GO version either. I think Sony charges way too much for what they're offering to gamers, although the idea of purchasing games whenever you want is a great service for those who are loyal fans of the system.

Very well said! I must admit, the PSPgo is SWEET looking. The design is sick. I got to try it out at E3, and I was very impressed. But again the damn price tag, $249.99, come on Sony!

Scribblenauts is amazing times. I actually have more fun in the main menu then the actual game. Summoning tons of random **** and having them fight! I highly recommend it.

Is it true you can type star and the star will automatically appear completely defeating the purpose of the game?

I <3 my DS, even though I don't have many games. I never got a PSP because I have a PS2 and don't even use that very much. I'll just stick with my DS... I've always been a nintendo buy anyways

Pass... Definitely a Pass.

I have four games on the PSP that I love... Two of them aren't even available for me to purchase for the PSP Go & the other two, which are available (would cost me $35 to replace them) I'd lose all of my progress since the PSP Go uses a different memory stick then the normal PSP.

Oh & until I see the game sizes, as well as the sizes & more importantly the prices of Sony's new Memory Sticks, I'm not sold on the all digital part either.

Seriously, on perceived value, especially to previous PSP owners, Sony has failed miserably with the PSP Go & quite frankly, I think that with the price, it'll put off a lot of new owners too.

Scribblenauts is a great idea but not a fun game imo.

PSP Go is the worst piece of console hardware since the Virtual Boy.

I'm going to pass as well. Too much money for a handheld. I have a normal PSP. The memory for it is pretty cheap (if you know where to look). You can easily pack a regluar PSP with 32GB or more of storage space for around $100 (it was a PSP memory stick, but held micro-SD cards).

As for the size of the games. They range a bit. I've seen them from anywhere around 500MB (or less) to around 1.6-2GB in size. Sony just launched a ton of games for the PSP yesterday. Just PSP games alone there's over 90+ now available for download, not including PS1 classics. That or there was 90+ just added yesterday...didn't feeling like looking through them all.

As for the prices on the PSP Go memory...it's about the same as the currently PSP memory. Still, if you own a normal PSP, there's no point at all in upgrading.

I sometimes wish some of the concept (fake) PSP's would have been true with dual analog sticks. Then I wouldn't avoid FPS (and 3rd person) style shooter games like the plague.

Ya its a blast! My only complaint is there are only two save slots and 4 of us playing it in the house but thats about it. Seeing who can solve the puzzles with the craziest items has become a side contest and I agree with rick you can spend alot time just on the main menu having fun

I went on a rant about this thing during E3 on my twitter.

250$ is extreme considereing the prices of the PS3 just dropped to 299$ after the Sony president was claiming they weren't going to lower prices. *SURPRISE* lol they did. So I already own a PS3, honestly I think it is a piece of crap. Yes some games look great on there, but majority of the games for it suck ***. And their Network, OMG don't get me started on that. I will stick with my iPhone, and my xbox. (Wii is only for drunk game night). But my iphone can do all the same things was the PSgo. And I have already paid for it, and well it is a freaking phone too! lol
