Great blog! This game is SO win..I can't get enough of it. I prefer to play with other people though..I love co-op. It's so much fun.
I like how this game borrowed some ideas from other games, because it borrowed all the awesome ones!
I like the way the game looks..it's very unique, but it's just plain badass lol
Also, I like that you can reset your skill points to replace them again later..even though you have to pay for it Razz
I can't wait for the new dlc..apparently they're supposed to release the first one before 2009 is over and it's supposed to be zombie related! Good choice, if you ask me Big Grin

This game is HIGHLY addicting. Did wish you could customize your characters appearance a bit but that is a really minor complaint. Throw me an invite if you are up for coop.

Great game. I have 4 characters ranging from level 6 to level 40. It's a great game whether you play single player or multiplayer. Playing with friends is the way to go.

*Be careful if you play with randoms. There are a ton of loot hogs and asshats floating around. Smash

This game is the win. The second play-through is actually better than the first, the guns are better second time around.

Borderlands: I'm loving this game. Just started a couple days ago. I'm rockin a Siren and I'm in the mid-twenties with her.

I wish the game had more armor options than just a shield - l00ty rpg's are missing something when you're not constantly looking in your inventory for the next best gauntlets-helmet-boots-cuirass-shield-greaves-etc, ha ha.
I also wish there was a greater variety in enemy types, I've been playing for probably fifteen hours and have only run into a few basic enemy types: Human/psycho/raiders, Skags, Rakks, Scythids, and Spider Ants.

Also, the shotguns are so fun to play with. I still haven't been able to retire Sledge's Shotgun.

Also, does anyone feel like they're picking up on some references in this game? I do..

I swear the Rakks and Bloated Rakks are so a reference to the obnoxious Cliff Racers and Bloated Cliff Racers in Morrowind.

Obviously, the game seems to borrow a lot from Fallout, the wasteland, raider-type enemies, etc. At least they wink at the similarities rather than deny them, they get major cool points in my book for that.

The achievement "My Cousin's an Italian Plumber" has to be a reference to Mario Bros.; the achievement is unlocked when you kill something buy jumping on its head. Heyo.

And there's a part of the game where there's a huge purple-electricity pillar into the sky: hellooo, looks a little like when the top of the Citadel blew in Half Life 2 and how the sky had that going on in HL2- Episode 1.

I absolutely love when dev teams add references to games in like this; Gearbox = win.
Anybody spot any other references?

There's a hidden basement in New Haven that is strictly a reference to an awesome classic movie. There's certain criteria you have to meet before you can get in it though, but I definitely think it's worth it! You get a good laugh out of it.
It's hard to find by yourself, but if you wanna know where it is and how to get in it, PM and I'll spill the beans Thumbs Up

There's a weapon title for certain guns called "weaksauce". Weaksauce SMG, Weaksauce sniper, etc.
I am sure that is a reference to internet culture.

I found a shield called "cracked sash" in reference to Diablo 2.

I would have to say the most referenced in this game is fall out. The skags even remind me of some creatures from fall out. Then there is the vault need I say more. I think this game is great. I am a 37 siren right now ready to go through second play through. If anybody wants to play second w/ me let me know. I will also start a new character if anyone is just starting out. One of my fav things about this game is the graphics, no they are not crystal clear real life but the metal comic book feel has me sold.

Is it me, or is Marcus the bus driving arms dealer the same guy as Niko Belloc's cousin Roman from GTA IV?

Cool! I'm down to run through with you on your second play through. The only thing I'm doing now is trying to get more backpack space.
