It looks great, I love the idea of scanning in pianatas from cards or pictures and generating codes from your pinatas and trading them online. The online co-op could be pretty awesome too, assuming more people actually buy this one. It looks beautiful too, the ice worl in partyicular, luring out the special pinatas there will be fun. Bring on september.

I agree that co-op could be neat. I loved the first one... I still think it's one of the most visually stunning next-gen games out there.

Anyway, here's more, including some of the stuff Ninja's talking about.

Did Viva Pinata ever have an end, like harvest moon and its 3 year hard stop, or was it more like animal crossing where it just goes forever?

I played it a lot but never found an end.

I don't think there's an end? And the amazing Pinata Island wiki doesn't say anything about an end.

p.s. I just saw that the wiki also has some info on species that will appear in the sequel. So, that's kind of neat.

I just watched the video preview on Inside Xbox & I have to say, it looks pretty cool. Almost makes me want to go back & try to get further in the original game.

I played the original up until the point I got cinnamonkies... it was just something I had to do.

As a fan of the original game, as a man who's enjoyed the cartoon more than once and as a fan of pinatas in general I say, viva piñata, piñata lindo.

I hope they make it easier to get new aquistions. The byzantine process involved in getting a sherbat required an associate's degree in piñatology. I also hope they fix the problem of piñata's getting trapped in fences.

I didn't like having to feed my pinatas to other pinatas to get new ones. Poor guys. Frown

It sucks that the garden in VP2 is the same size as in the original, the more room the better I say.

I hated the fact that they limit the amount of stuff you could have in one garden. I had an awesome garden going and not even half my area was used. I didnt touch it again after that.

Both of these are the reasons I stopped playing the original. I don't mind the size of the garden, I had room to spare. So long as I can put more in it I'll be happy. It'd also be nice if I could choose whether or not some wandering jerk can eat my named newt who happens to be wearing ten thousand coins in accessories.

Well put, John. This is actually the big issue that Rare is trying to address. They admit that they packaged sophisticated gameplay in a kiddie coating. I think their hope is that they can introduce lots of co-op and online elements in order to make the game more accessible to casual gamers without dumbing down the gameplay.

I had no problems with the size restrictions, since I would have gone crazy if I didn't limit myself to three or four species at once. (The rest would all sit in storage or get retrieved by the hunter.) I liked that the garden size forced me to concentrate on just a couple of objectives. Otherwise, I might have felt overwhelmed.

OMG. I want to play Viva Piñata right NOW!!

I stopped playing it a while ago... I think that, once you gained the full size garden and all, you could start a second one with all that stuff unlocked. If you wanted

Yes, having them get stuck in fences was incredibly annoying. You wouldn't believe the effort I put into not letting my first two Whirlms get eaten... which involved a lot of fencing. And a pair of hats
