Been to Paris. As well as London. Paris is beautiful. The architecture
is amazing. Make sure you check out some of the castles near by. The french in general don't like americans. Make sure sure you can find your way around, or have a friendly tour guide Wink

London kicked ***. Went to the hard rock there. Standing room only that night. It seems there was a celeb present. Someone named McCartney or sumthin' Shady I had a video cam when we went in and they took it from me. The bloody w-ankers! Could have had some great footage.

Anyway. Have a great time. Pareee, is a romantic place to hang, if your better half is going.

Um, remember the phrase "Où sont les toilettes?"!

I thought the French not liking Americans wasn't actually true...

Have a nice trip. I've never been to Paris. I plan to get over there eventually. I don't really have much of a reason to go. In all honesty I'd like to go to Ireland with all the rolling hills and pubs and golf courses Happy

Valkyrie, if you want to hit up the major sights in Paris, it's suggested you partake in the step on/off bus tour. They stop at various places around the city, and constantly make the rounds so if you step off to see one sight, you can simply hop back on the next bus that comes by the line.

The French seem pretty nice to Americans as long as you're 1) not loud, and 2) don't force them to speak english because you were too lazy to learn their language. That's been my experience, anyway.

Every time I go there I feel awful since I don't speak french. D: I have to awkwardly point to things on menus and try leaving out half the consonants to pronounce things. It's great to have french friends to help.

What is D: then? A frown? French is quite an easy language to learn, it's remembering it that's the problem! Is it not taught in schools over in your country?

And moonsong, Ireland is all pubs, rolling hills and golf courses? Right... just don't forget the traditional sectarian tensions this time of year, it's band season!

Ah, I wouldn't worry - it's not as mad as it used to be, I reckon. Suppose it depends on where you are though. Ireland is apparently not big on marching season though Northern Ireland is but, what with peace and all, it's much calmer these days. I have found that Americans (and even some mainland British) don't distinguish between the two countries. Another thing to make a note of, as some people can take offence at that.

Personally, I try not to get drawn into all that religious/political stuff so the most annoying thing is how the whole country stops around July 12th... Mad

Anyway, Paris - I hear it's big on cheese and wine. Plus if we're being really pedantic, I think it would be "Bonjour Paree!". N'est-ce pas?
