Go Wings!!!

This is an interesting matchup. The Wings haven't played Pitt in almost two years before this finals clash. I'd like to think that that favors us Detroit fans. A 4-0 Victory in the first gme was a perfect way to start. Could it get any better?

Hell yeah. A 2-0 1st period lead in the second game.

I enjoy Hockey. I don't like how the tv contracts have gotten all screwed up so now I don't get the channel that the games are on. I used to watch hockey all the time. The strike really hurt the sport.

As far as sporting events go. A professional playoff hockey game that goes into overtime is awesome. The crowd goes crazy and you can feel the tension in the building. Put that in a game seven and you have one entertaining evening.

I've had the luck of going to a stanley cup final game(not this year but a few years ago). That was fun. The energy in the crowd was insane.

I do not like either team.

But...since i used to run around Detroit in my youth, i will say go Wings!

Wow. 2 shutouts in a row. I'm not gonna get excited yet though. Pitt is too good of a team to say it's over so soon. The wings are smoking though.

Being an Avs girl I would feel wrong for rooting for the Redwings...

but condsidering the alternative I have no choice.

The Pitt are a really good team but I favour Detroit.

It was the toughest game of the series. Pitt really blew an opportunity in the 3rd, having a 5 on 3. My hero of the game was Henrich Zetterberg. That guy is a machine. He was just too strong against Crosby. He put a clamp on him during that 5 on 3 that can only be frustrating for the youngster.

I feel for Pitt. I could read their faces. They just don't know what to do now. They rolled through the playoffs, seemingly untouched. Won 17 straight at home going back to the regular season. Yet. I can tell that they just can't handle the Redwings overall experience and strength as a club.

We can wrap up the cup on Monday. Hockeytown is gonna be rockin'.

Devil's fan here so I don't really care who wins. Looks like Detroit.

The Penguin players already have a defeatist attitude from the pre-game interviews, not a good way to start game 5.

Pitt's playing well(like they have everything to lose).

Det's playing very well to. Alot of shots.

Both goalies are Stellar thus far.

EDIT: Going to a 3rd overtime. Wow. Some tired skaters out there, playing on adrenaline. At this point, I want a goal. Don't care who gets it. Just score someone!

I gave up during the second overtime though. I fell asleep.

It took one more game than I predicted.

But the Wings have taken the Cup! 4th time in 11 years. 3-2, although, this time they controlled the game from start to finish. It really wasn't as close as the score shows.

Osgood made a good save at the end on the initial shot. The rebound was nil because time ran out but the Pens kept it interesting until the last second. I would expect to see both of those teams being a force for the next few years barring injuries or contract fiascos. I look at all the teams lately and it seems that ex devils players seem to be a common bond between the good teams. Just goes to show how good a team New Jersey had when all the talent was together.
