Damn you, zee. I take a day to think about a response, and you take the words right out of my mouth (in reference to Bioshock.)
Only addendum is that: because Bioshock leaves certain aspects open to the player, it would make it difficult for the IP holder to force the movie studio to following a certain path, unless said IP holder wanted to officially define canon. I guess in that respects, I'd have to agree with Pino in that the more choices a game gives a player, it could make it easier for the studio making an adaption because they will be forced to right some parts themselves which (hopefully) would make for a better adaption. That is, of course, if they are given the freedom to do so. |
