My all time top ten

1- Superman: The Movie~ No contest, Marlon Brando,Margot Kidder, and the great Christopher Reeve. A classic forever

2- Spider Man 2~ The best spiderman in the series and second best overall. It also represented spidey the best in story.

3- Batman Begins~ This is reall a tie with SM2. I think that this movie is still easily one of the alltime greatest. No movie did a better job at really letting everyone know what batman was capable of. Great film.

4- Superman 2~ As far as sequels go. This one did it best. For having to bend the story into a human emotion aspect. This movie was perfectly executed. Terrance Stamp was amazing in this to. If you haven't seen it. Do it. Now.

5- Batman~ Yes. Why is this number 5. Tim Burton. That's why. Only he could bring Gotham City back to life. And Michael Keeton, with a surprise phoenominal performance makes me smile when I think about watching this again and again.

6- The Incredibles~ Yeah baby. Some may differ in opinion that this is not a superhero movie. Guess again. Different style. Same concept. Very well done I might add. Brad Bird did a stellar job bringing this one to life.

7- Batman Returns~ Nominated for a couple of oscars, this film is worthy. Danny Devito as the penguin, and the hot Michele Phieffer as catwoman. Mmmmmm. Tasty.

8- X-Men~ A pretty good iteration of the comic series. Hugh Jackman was on in this one. Really, the casting as a whole was spot on. This is a movie that actually turned me on to the comic series. I was pleasantly rewarded with a great series.

9- Spider-Man~ Alot of people say this is the best adaptation of all time. I beg to differ on that. It was however, a great film. Enough for me to own it in high def. Tobey Maguire, William Dafoe, Kirsten Dunst. Need I say more. wesome job by all here.

10- X2: X-Men United~ Oh baby. Just the beginning of this one is enough to make my top ten. Alan Cumming goes off like no one in this. It's some azzkicking to remember.

Sorry. Up against these films. Iron Man just can't beat them out. Although, I really liked the film. These were far superior overall.

That is all.

After being forced into expressing his opinion, I must complete the circle with an official statement concerning said opinion, and any lame qualities relating to.

Ahhh. a shot out to a british cult comic. I faintly remember a bit of TG. Like Barney, a killer whom she broke out of a mental ward, still very insane no less. In one episode, she killed about everyone and TG saved them all from the land of the dead by, get this. Locating the Prince of Farts. Blink Needless to say. A different angle here. The movie is just short of above average recognition status unfortunately. Iron Man definately beats this one out.

Actually Doc. Your list should have read more along the lines of this.

1.Superman (1976)
2. IRON MAN
3.Spider-Man 2
4.Batman Begins.
5.The Incredibles
6.Superman 2 (the Richard Donner Cut)
7.Spider-Man
8.Batman Returns
9.Batman
10. X2

IRON MAN has effects so good that it is impossible to tell what is practical and what is cgi. Seriously you cannot tell.
Example; Iron Man and the Tank (where he shoots the small rocket) He and the Tank are real. The town is green screen. Explosion is an overlay from a practical effect on a model tank.

The acting is superb. There was actual blood shown in a Marvel Movie. which normally doesn't happen. Just look at the Punisher. Lots of death...no blood.

Obadiah Stane is an actual villain from the comics who tried to take over his Company.

Rumor for the second and third movies.

2. War Machine comes into play and is sent to stop Tony who will not listen to the Government and is starting to cause international incidents worldwide.

3.Enter the Mandarin, Iron Man and War Machine together against the Asian overlord and his minions.

I think now that Marvel has control over the majority of their characters (except for Spidey and the X-MEN) we will see more entertainment and quality from our Superhero type films.

Superhero films are really just modern day Action movies with quality effects.
Think of Demolition Man or the Terminator or Commando or Predator and True Lies. Any of those could easily be a comic book movie. Commando (written by comic book scribe Jeph Loeb who also does LOST and HEROES) could have easily been an 80's version of the Punisher.

There are about 8 comic book movies out every year, most of them you just don't realize are based on a comic book.

A few Examples.

The Road to perdition.
Ghost World
30 days of night
A History of Violence

There are many more but those are easily remembered due to quality. That and 3 of those have won Oscars.

Iron Man is an eye opener and makes me very happy to own MARVEL stock.

Here is part one of a really good video interview focusing mainly on the SPIRIT Film that is coming next year but it also discusses why now is the time for these kind of movies. Comic based in general.

I also liked the Directors cut of Daredevil.
FF2 was also good. People complain about it but it was very much like the comic books.

Also, here is a good spoiler concept art of Two Face from The Dark Knight.

I approve all the way.

I saw Iron Man last night and have to jump on the love train. I think Downey Jr. was absolutely perfect in the part and no one is talking enough about the supporting cast, which was also fantastic!

The script was much better than 95% of the comic-to-screen tripe we've had to sit through. And dare I even say that I admired the film's subtlety? I was really impressed by the directing and the editing—both much more artful than most action movies.

Subtlety? In a comic book movie? Blasphemy!

Speaking of which, I kept thinking the bad guy (Jeff Bridges) looks like Kurt Russel. I kept thinking it was Kurt Russel the entire movie.
