EAST COAST FRAG DOLL COMMUNITY LAN PARTY.

What we are:
This event is a simple excuse to get FD community and friends together to play games and hang out. It is NOT a professional event.

History:
We, as a community have discovered that for whatever reason, like to hang out in real life. It seems that we can actually talk with out Xbox live or WOW. After having organized (I use that term loosely) event at PAX 05 and 06 and at E3 06 we decided to try to expand. However it was noticed that much of the community is on the east coast! Further many had either never been able to attend the major events or had grown tired of having to fly to the west coast to do cool Frag Doll events. (E3, PAX, CES ect) (Yes I know CES is in Vegas, but really everything west of the Mississippi is all the same Razz)
The suggestion came out that we have a small lan party for the community members here on the right coast. Since VA is in the middle we thought it should be here. Ok I lie, I organized the thing, and frankly I am a bit provincial. I mean really why would you want to be anywhere BUT VA?
At first slowly and with hiccups it came to be. We finally locked down a location. (Read: got a friend to lend his house) At first it was a few, but now our numbers have grown. 1000 man LAN we are not, but we are better looking.

Here are some facts for planning. Please note that the schedule is notional. We will lock down actual event times closer to the date. At this point we are still unsure of the final events.

April would be good. I might be able to figure something out, for that. It also gives me plenty of time to book holidays, in advance.

If it's in VA, I'll be willing to pick people up from whatever Airport and drive down seeing as it is not really that far and the most major airport (becides in DC) is 7 minutes from my house.

    Or whatever Smile

I'd love to but it's just not going to happen for me, especially when, starting next week, my days off are Wednesday & Thursday.

Yeah. VA is so far away from NY. Maybe I can walk there. It'll take a month but I can do it.

    yes... YES... YESSSS

    Come to the Expo!!!

SO far these are the suggestions and ideas that I have or have been given to me.

    1) rent a 15 passenger van for the weekend to drive tired/ drunk gamers to and from the hotel and about.

    2) Community dinner at one of the local spots. (I am thinking the Jewish Mother)

    3) Cook out at my parents house. If it is warm nuff the pool will be open.

    4) Day trip to Busch Gardens

    and of course....

    Games:

    Halo
    GoW
    Rainbow 6 Vegas
    GH 2 (on 360 or ps2?)
    Wii sports tourney. (drinking game?)

Sleeping. I was thinking if we get nuff people maybe we can workout a group rate somewhere. If not I will do my magic with Marriott and try to get people good rates at the courtyard

    Travel

10 minutes from my house is Norfolk International Airport (ORF)

    DC is 3 hours north
    Baltimore is about 4 hours
New York is about 6 hours
Orlando is 13 hours due south

Is anyone willing to lend their 360, wii, ps2 for the event? I of course have a 360 and a wii. I would like 7 more 360s and 3 more wii. The only reason for a ps2 would be GH. so 1 will do.

Lets see am I'm willing to go on a trip far, far away from anyone I know who can help, with a bunch of strangers i've meet over the internet and jump in their mysterious van driving me god knows where.

There will be games and booze.

Sure I'll try to make it. Me and Errr will hitchhike over there.

Just remember, most of us know each other from PAX/ E3/ my various boonedoggles.

Do while I may be weird, I think most here will admit that I am, at least, not dangerous. Hell if you have seen any of my photos you know I am to fat to run very fast...

Moe on the other hand. She is a CRAZY BIACH... Smile

Well I know Errr in here and psyche in RL because we live in the same city.

Met caly and valk at digital life thats about it.

But hey, I'm easy. Look at my name. Whats the point in getting drunk if i dont vomit in front of a buddist temple, and whats the point in traveling if I dont get in some form of trouble. Big Grin

You know i will be there. What is it a five minute drive? I will bring a 360 and if we play anything from the first XBOX i have 2 that i could bring. If people could definetly plan thier trip now, you could secure a room at the beach pretty cheap at that time of the year. Tavel is not to far from there. Those of us locally could possibly shuttle if neccessary.

Everything sounds in order. Good games, good food, root beer, pretty faces. Don't forget the party hats.
