I have a 95 Celica GT Convertible that the hose connecting the air filter to the engine broke. Yes.. just broke right off. Instead of replacing it with the same part, I wanna put a cold air intake on that puppy. Get better gas mileage, more horses, all that jazz. Don't know much about buying them. Been trying to do some research online. Anyone got any straight forward, layman term, no BS suggestions??

All I know is what I've picked up from my friend when we put one into his Ford Taurus. Essentially, it is only worth it (in terms of saving your gas) if you truly drive in colder weather (and since my friend and I currently reside in Florida, this was obviously not the reason we installed it).
Personally, I prefer the sound of the revving that you get with certain models of cars and the new intakes. For instance, it sounded amazing within his Taurus...but not so much in his new Chrysler Sebring (though, this may be do to the fact that the engine in this specific model was made/designed by Mitsubishi, so the revving made it sound more like a sports bike rather than a muscle car). Thus, I'm not sure if you'd get that satisfying roar with the cold air intake within you Celica since its a Japanese brand. As for what to buy, etc. From what I've seen, decent intakes shouldn't cost you too much. We been using one that was well under $40, and it's been fine. Thanks to Phineas for the sig!
