That looks awesome! How long did it take you to do that Melonie? It takes me a great deal of time to achieve the perfect Smokey eyes look and I am hoping that one of you girls know a good shortcut.

My contribution Big Grin

Brookelyn I can't wait to try out out the gradient nail polish look!

wow, that is soo good! i've never seen gradient nails before (or cheetah for that matter). btw, i loved the little stop motion intro!

next time you do a nails episode, maybe you can replicated crazy japanese nail art. that stuff is insane. i can't imagine how long that takes... so much precision too! although i can't imagine really being able to do much in those crazy nails...

Yeah Ive done some research on Japanese nail styles, but they seemed so impractical. They look cool thou! I found a pic of a Hello Kitty style I really liked.

Yeah I might try to create some crazy japanese nails for my Gothic Lolita costume for this year Halloween. It's all about the details.

@loversheart If I come across any sites I will link them here for you. Heart

Yup I make all my bracelets! I even have sold some. I dont really make profit off of them, it's just enough to support my hobbies.

I call them Brookelets! You can check them out here. I made a little facebook gallery of them.

I'm glad you like because I will cover how to make my favorite one (bordered Chevron) in a Girly Gamer episode. I was going to do it next but since Halloween is coming up I was going to do somthing dedicated to that. I was thinking, how to put a gothic lolita outfit together'? How to carve a princess peach pumpkin? hahah I have no clue. Any suggestions?

Wow, you're very talented with those! Now I want to start making them again, because you've totally added your own flair to them. I love the bordered chevrons with the black border around the pink and green ones, those look amazing. How did you first start learning how to make them? I started when I was about 10 years old, I had a Klutz book that taught how to make friendship bracelets, and they had a bunch of cool ones like that. I couldn't do it well until I was a teenager, though.

One of my favorites is the totem pole, but that one takes a lot of thread and work! I also used to sell mine when I was a teenager, but like you said, you really don't get profit from them. And mine seemed to get tattered pretty fast, so I constantly had to make more. It's been years since I've made one, but now I'm inspired to make more, because they look so cute. In Love

I think making a Brookelet for one of your GG episodes would be great! I think I'd be most excited about the lolita outfit, though. I've always wanted to put one together, and would love to see a tutorial about it. Heart

You really are very artsy, which is a fun subject for me. Looks like you have a lot of crafty hobbies, too. I always feel silly for getting into so many different crafty hobbies instead of sticking to just one, but they're all so fun! Have you ever considered doing repaints on dolls and barbies? I've been thinking about it (I'd love to recreate some of my favorite female game characters), but it's kind of expensive to buy all the supplies, so I want to make sure it's something I really would enjoy.

Haha. I have that Klutz friendship bracelet book. I also googled tutorials on how to make different designs, but once you start understanding the knots and how designs work it become a lot easier to start creating your own designs.

The barbie idea sounds awesome! We should give it a shot. I suck at painting but sometimes I think my lack of skill at painting gives some of my art charm; or at least that is what I tell myself Wink

I do sew but i never learned how to sew clothes. I want to learn! I always have so many ideas in my head I wish I could turn into something real. I do make plushies thou and I love them. I call my plushes, Rooboos. I have a story for them and everything. Ive been wanting to write a childrens book about my Rooboos but have been procrastinating for about two years. :/

I ended up ordering a Lolita dress this year, but I figure I could make all the head pieces and accessories myself. I think of myself more as a babydoll or pink Lolita, but since I had perfect black lolita shoes I decided on gothic lolita. But I will most definitely be going back and ordering the pink lolita for future cons to cosplay at.

ps. I love your eye makeup!! Heart

lol yes, good ol' Klutz friendship bracelet book. A great learning tool for just starting especially. And the Barbie repaints just sounds too fun, I'll probably end up doing that. The fact that (if you're really good) they sell for pretty high prices is encouraging, too. I'm sure you could at least support the hobby with it.

These really inspire me: linky

The Rooboos sound too adorable, and if you ever get around to writing the childrens story for it, it me know and I can help out with the illustrations if you don't have anyone else in mind. Smile

Do you have a pic of your gothic lolita dress? I'd love to see it! I've been looking around on ebay for some lolita dresses and am definitely going to by one when I find the perfect one that screams out to me. In Love I found a great tutorial for a lace lolita bracelet here. It would be nice to learn how to make the clothes as well. It's nice enough to get compliments, but so much better if you can tell them you made it yourself!

Thanks for the compliment on my eye makeup, btw. Glomp If you ever seriously consider doing some Barbie repaints, let me know and we can do some research, get the best supplies, and learn at the same time. I think that would make it much easier for the both of us, since we've never done it before.

I love how creative you are. Being able to create both cute and amazing things just makes life so much more personal. Heart I bet you're the type of gamer that spends a bazillion hours customizing your character (when given the option). I'm like that as well, it's just too fun!

Great video Brooke!

I'm jus getting into the girly nail stuff and those are some great tips. I try doing the same thing but with all different colors (sorry for the blurry cell phone pic), ya can't really tell but there's pink to dark purple then tipped with gold...

Also very good tip on covering up the flaws with glitter polish ^_^

Oh and another fun thing I did was match my nails to my Guitar Hero buttons Razz

Look forward to my next girly lesson, thanks Brooke!

Oops, I forgot to answer this. Razz

It takes me about 20 minutes to do that look. Which is a little time consuming, but worth it. Big Grin Especially since I don't do that look everyday, just when the occasion fits. I work at a bank, so I have to do my makeup pretty conservatively. Though I still push my limits, I looooove makeup. Heart

BTW, you look beautiful as always. Such gorgeous eyes!

SO this so far is my best attempt on gradient nails. The pointer finger is the best one I think. Although they all just look mostly like purple tips. I think I need to use some different colors. My middle color was by rimmel and it didn't play well with my dark color. Middle just covered up the dark one, so I had to sponge all polish on. I will try again soon i'm sure.

Yeah RImmel makes very opaque colors. The medium tone color is best when it take 2-3 coats to make it a solid.
That way it doesnt cover the darkest color (tips) completely. It just changes the shade of the tips./

Btw. you have beautiful nails. I wish I was able to grow my nails out that long. Mine are so thin and always peel.

Oh WoW! Those dolls are amazing! I could never do soemthing like that. That takes a lot of skill and I have no natural talent in painting. Now I could totally paint a barbies face to look like a cheap whore or a clown, You think that will sell? haha kidding.

I think you should start repainting dolls. The more you practice the better you will become and before you know it you would be making cheddar for something that you love doing.

What kind of paints do they use? Do you know?

Edit: Oh and that lolita bracelet tutorial that you linked would go perfect with my dress (Im still waiting for the dress to be shipped, its coming from China). I love the bracelet so much Im going to run to the craft store right now to buy the materials.

Thanks for sharing that LINK!!! Heart

20 Minuites is a lot of time but you are right its worth it! It looks amazing. Haha! About being conservative at a workplace You are preaching to the choir sister Razz I wear almost no makeup to my workplace. I am doing my MD internship and there is a policy about makeup because they don't know what a patient might be allergic to.

Thank you for your compliment Big Grin

SkellzJuggz5170 you nailed it haha! Pardon the pun Razz

bigggvixxen those are perfect for halloween haha!

Loverheart- I came across these Geisha nails. I think they're so beautiful.

I across came across a site that sells flower nail art; alot smaller than the ones Sep posted but probably more functional.

You are such a sweetheart Brookelyn! Thankyou sooooo much! They look beautiful! There are so many variants! So much to choose from! I might mix and match them up with Seppuku's selection.
