I won it when I won the 2006 WSVG, but I think they said the retail value was around $4000 or so.

Jen and I went flying our RC copters today, well, she did anyway. A loosely fastened tail rotor saw to a short flight for me. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time while I wait for the new parts. More info on them here.

I haven't dabbled into the RC world for 3 years. -_-

RC Radios usually have telescopic antennas as long as 4 feet. Thanks to that pic, I'm gonna go read articles on new technologies the hobby world have advanced to. Hmm I wonder if there's a 9000mah NIMH battery pack nowadays.

It's a pretty sweet transmitter Jen has, it's 2.4 gHz. Mine is only 72 mHz with the standard telescoping antennae. She flies an E-flite Blade 400, and I fly an Art-Tech Falcon 3D.

Her transmitter is definately tasty. I noticed the led display on it. Very nice. Why no pics of your bird Phin? Did you bang it up that bad?

No, it's not that bad. I forgot to check the threading on my tail rotor assembly, so the inertia of the spin in flight ripped a section of it off. I was the first to fly and it happened so quickly that Jen didn't get a chance to take any pictures =/. Let that be a lesson to y'all, pre-flight checks are important Razz. However, here is a picture of the helicopter I do have:

I bought the replacement parts today, and even bought an upgrade for it in the form of carbon fiber blades for the main rotor assembly. Once they all come in and my heli has been sufficiently pimped - there will be photos Smile. I like this heli because it's a good intro/intermediate 3D (as in the ability to loop, fly inverted, and perform various stunt maneuvers) helicopter that has a wealth of upgradeable parts and options.

I saw this billboard and it said,"Need help, call Jesus." 1-800-984-8800 I decided to call the number and about 20mins later a Mexican showed up with a tow truck.

It's in Central Asia. Bordered by Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and China. And it's also where Borat comes from in "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan." A movie that had some funny moments.

My new apartment, assuming the paperwork goes through. Not only did I snag a super cheap deal, it's called Rock Ridge for ****'s sake!

I guess I should buy a Blazing Saddles poster now....

kazakhstan just discovered an oil deposit to rival even the one the saudis once posessed. So be prepared to start hearing the name tossed around in serious circles.

Woohoo! Almost completely repaired!

This was the 724th TC's (SSG Matt Maupin's unit) gun truck. I got all of the soldiers, one KBR widow, and the KBR guys who all served with Matt and most of them were there at the ambush he got captured at who were there at the ceremony on the 9th. I also got his brother and father to sign it as well. Most of the guys who signed it, made it and bought it.

The side armor, the ammo can, and 50 cal. are the only things that needed repair.
