This is looking to be a cornucopia of music gaming in the coming season. Wow. So much is coming. RB2 is going to let you transfer all your tracks from RB1 over to 2 instantly. Looks like the world tour is going to be online. YES! I'm sure more will be announced. I can't wait to see the setlist. They are saying big things things about this.

What a rip off. Band tour online should have been in RB1. Why do they need to make a new version, they should just keep digging into our pocket books with song downloads, and give us band tour online for free.

i think guitar hero is going to be better than rock band. i read in game informer about how theres going to be more instruments in gh4 and you can now create your own songs and stuff its going to be sweet.

Harmonix haven't really revealed anything really new to make RB2 superior to GH4. Neversoft have really worked to bring some big new features to the genre, I don't know if RB2is going to do the same. The competition between these two will be intense, especially when it comes to fighting over major artists. HMX will some stuff to say at E3...

Not so fast. Although, I'm sure Gh:WT will awesome. We haven't seen it, or, got our hands on it yet. You never know. It could be crap. Highly doubtful but, just sayin'.

Rockband is already proven to be bewbs & brew-tastic.

Well, I KNOW GH:WT will be awesome But honestly, as long as they keep one upping each other it's the gamers that will win in the end. Once they stop raising the bar then people will get bored and stop buying them. So I hope that RB2 is even better than GH:WT, and then the next GH game even better than that and so on and so forth.

But you should all buy GH:WT when it comes out

Heheee. Not biased are we? I do agree. They will be one upping each other for a couple of years I'm sure. I luv. They will both be great. It sounds like RB will be doing a song creation tool in the near future. They mentioned perfecting new tech. So yeah. Unlike GH. They will probably one up their creator with something that much better. Like vocals included.

It's not like GH doesn't milk the money pool either. How many versions of GH have we gotten now? Like 6 or 7? The new GH: Aerosmith is pretty cool. Easy achievements, good classic tunes. Heaven I say. RB keeps bringing the mass dlc that can only keep us rockbanders happy. Yo.

I agree that Band World Tour should've been online from the beginning but I don't see that as a reason not to do a sequel. I'm expecting there will be more additions to the game then just Online World Tour.

Besides, I'm pretty sure they said that there will be at least 80 songs in the game so at $60 for the disc (which is all you'll technically need since you already have the Rock Band instruments), I would hardly consider it a rip off.

On the topic of Rock Band 2, apparently Harmonix showed it off a little bit on X-Play & this screenshot was taken by somebody, showing off a bunch of the new songs, in addition to a couple of current DLC songs:



As for the Rock Band 2 VS Guitar Hero: World Tour debate, I'm definitely more excited for Rock Band 2. I'll probably end up getting both but I've had a lot more fun with Rock Band then Guitar Hero 3 & being able to import all of my DLC is a really awesome feature.

More then anything, I'm just looking forward to a new game(s) & being able to get the sense of accomplishment from beating songs & unlocking new songs as opposed to just playing for High Scores like I've been doing with Rock Band. I considered getting Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for this purpose... After seeing the setlist, I quickly decided against it.

P.S. I'm sure most have seen it by now but for anybody that hasn't: 12 songs from 'The Who' coming to Rock Band on July 15 for $20

I have to agree GH definitely does put out a lot of games to milk the pool. I think Rockband does this a little with downloadable content too though. The only reason that Rockband hasn't had as many iterations in the past year is because they don't have the resources to throw at RB that Activision does at GH. Rest assured though, that after a couple more successful RB games they will start cranking them as fast as possible too.

But as I said before, their competition is a good thing for gamers as it constantly forces the quality bar up.

Looks like a solid list of songs. so I wont complain or bash either game for whatever they're doing. Kezz is right, we're only better off at the end of all of this. I do have to say, being able to play DLC across games should've been a standard for Guitar Hero since between the releases of 2 and 3

I probably won't buy GH, mostly for the fact that Activision sucks.

Im playing GH Aerosmith right now and it is a hell of a lot better then I was expecting. The notes seem to have a little more of a Rock Band feel to them.

I noticed that to. Everything feels more in sync in this version. Makes it more fun to play, and easier to play the higher difficulty levels.

Now if I could only figure out how to unlock or where to get that white mural guitar that Joe Perry plays in the later parts of the career. Damn that thing is sweet.
