Well, by now, many have played and beateen Batman:Arkham Asylum. Now, I won't give away any spoilers on what happens or how the game ends, but we all know there will be a 2nd game. Now, who is the Batman universe shoul the gamer get to face as bosses?

Challenge maps: 21st in sewer bat.

What I want to know is how anyone gets 70k on the first map.

No kidding. I saw that and my mouth dropped. I tried it once, and after spending way too much time on the game, I decided to take a break.

I had a time of 55 seconds on the Record Breaker predator challenge, which at the time was good enough for 23 on the leader boards. Last time I checked it had slipped to 36 and has probably slid further since.

I am sick to death of trying to get the 3 batarang rating on all of the Combat challenges. They are the only thing seperating me from my platinum trophy. Batman is only the second game I've enjoyed enough to even bother trying to get 100% complete.

Killing everyone in one combo + Varying up your kills + not getting a single hit = Lots of points Smile

I have almost 30K on the first map........if i may, a few tips.

Critical strikes are your best friend. The moment your combo counter glows yellow, that the time to pound a few normal strikes and use your instant takedown. Once done, build up the combo again (if you have the upgrade, shud only take 5 hits), then you'll have a yellow combo meter again. Time for either a throw or instant takedown.

Try and finish with the ground and pound. If you have linked it with your combo coming up to that last guy, then that's an instant 100x whatever your combo meter was at the time.

Utilise all of Batman's move for the Flawless Freeflow bonus. Try and get the batclaw and strike out of the way early, then at least one throw and instant takedown. Follow that up with an evade over an enemy, then cape stun them, more strikes and at some point a batarang. Make sure you counter, and the only thing you'll have to worry about is the ground and pound mentioned above.

If you manage to do all of this and not fluff your lines, your variation bonus will be pretty high at the end of the round. x9 potentially for using all of Batman's 9 moves in a single combo.

Hope that helps. Big Grin

In other news...36 seconds for the Predator Challenge map: Silent Knight Veryhappy

I haven't played that much of the challenges in Arkham Asylum, but from what I've played, they're very addictive and loads of fun.

I think if they make a sequel than Two-Face would undoubtedly be the main villain along with the others that escaped the asylum after Joker took over.

I have 49k in the first map and 54 k in sewerbat. Send me a request at Ghengis John 2... because I'm so lonely. And seriously I'd love to compare myself to some more of you guys on the leaderboards.

But Slick's advice is the way to go.
5000 points a round just for using all 9 moves in one combo. Oh and don't upgrade to the multi batarang. It is such a lemon on the challenge maps. All your enemies will be down on the floor forcing you to do a ground takedown or lose your combostring. And the bigger the string, the bigger your score. Since ground takedowns take an enemy out instantly they are generally bad in challenge maps. Plus the spread takes down guys at random and when you're trying to plan which enemy to move to next to keep the attacks going, random is bad.

I have to disagree.....ground takedowns can be very effective, especially if you plan out what you intend to do beforehand. Ground takedowns on armed enemies (especially those with knives) leaves you with less potential hazards to worry about. Also, when utilised as the Ground and Pound takedown, exponentially, it can net you more points than the standard takedowns (like i mentioned earlier, instant 100x whatever your combo meter was at the time.)

So multi batarang followed by RT + Y is an asset....to me it is anyway.

edit: Shock and Awe (Extreme) is seriously testing the limits of my patience today.....grrr

Can be very effective is not a disagreement. I just like to use them after I've stretched the combo meter out a bit more. You definitely want to have used all batman's move varieties before you start using takedowns so being forced to use one is a situation I like to avoid and more selective takedowns are a plus to me. I like to throw a single batarang at my closest target only and then decide what to do from there. Only knocking down a single enemy also makes it easy to use the bat grapple as a follow up. As for knife weilders, I like to throw them clear of the group and ground take down myself. Or since I need to do one instant take down to get the nine bonus anyhow, just use it on them. I think it's a testiment to the fight mechanics that they can actually support differing styles of play.

Iagree. Two-Face would be one of the Main Villain, but you'd have to have Joker in it again. Personally, I'd want catwoman, Mr. Freeze, Mad Hatter, Ivy, Penguin, Ra's Al-Ghul, Riddler, and oh yeah, Prometius, and maybe a hint towards The Phantasm. And I'd love to see it be open ended, like fighting throughout Gotham.
