Heading to Seattle in a few weeks for work, figured I'd check with any locals here that might recommend some good places downtown to grab dinner /drinks.

someone mentioned Ray's boathouse, but looking for walking distance stuff from the Alexis or Doubletree off of 3rd

What kind of food do you like and what is your budget? What dates are you going to be in town? There are a bunch of us that live here and depending on the date you are in town we might be able to hang out.

Purple Wine Bar & Cafe is pretty awesome but it is on the pricier side. They have a deal right now where you can get a 3 course meal for $25 or $35 though. Definately worth it. Wild Ginger is across the street from it if you like Asian food.

There is also a Benihanas in that area, which is a great Japanese Steakhouse, but again pricey.

Tap House Grill, and Rockbottom are within a few blocks and both have a huge selection of beers. There is also a Gordon Biersch in the mall. All of them are reasonably priced.

Umi's Sushi Restaurant & Sake Bar is good, but probably a cab ride away.

For good breakfast\brunch Portage Bay Cafe is awesome and organic but not walking distance to your hotel.

Wild Ginger is awesome. 7 flavored beef! =)

Stonelance's suggestions are excellent! I've been to all of them.

They have a Wild Ginger in Bellevue now. And an El Gaucho.

I'm making a quick stop into Portland to visit family but will be driving up to Seattle on Nov 17th and flying back home on the morning of the 21st. Not sure how many after work events/dinners I'll have to attend yet but hanging out at some point would be cool. Have a feeling its going to be a pretty laid back trip with a flexible schedule. I'll let ya know
