Hilarious parody of the Halo ODST commercial. At least I found this to be very funny.

"Rated M for more of the same crap you've already played" I think they could've integrated that joke in a much better way.
I didn't find it to be that funny tbh. The best line was the one about how the battlefield in the game is never as exciting as what was being shown. Maybe it's the guys voice. He doesn't really evoke the element of the commercial, or any real effort towards a comedic performance, for that matter |

"Rated M for more of the same crap you've already played"
I think that can be said if any video game made these days. |

That failed to elicit laughter from me. I'm not cool or indie enough to hate Halo I guess, and I find the pricing argument completely irrelevant to the quality of the game.

As, a person who refuses to buy ODST I think spending 60$ on it is a bit retarded. I don't think I should have to spend that much for a second copy of halo 3 (a game i dont like) and maps that i already have and also dont like just so i can play the quality game that was going to be an expansion anyways... all six hours worth from what my friends tell me & the hoard bandwagon that is firefight... think it is rent worthy. You dont have to be "cool"(which I'm sure you used sarcastically) or indie to hate halo btw. |

Well, duh. You have the little Gaylo Icon in your played games list. So, if you bought it you might of felt slighted as your inner fanboy took over. To the non fanboy it's funny. Don't even say your not a fanboy because if you defend it you are. Just accept your fanboyism for what it is. I'm being nice as not to say you just slurped M$'s slong. Leave it at that. *It's just a joke. |

Not always, but the moment Halo became popular with the backwards hat-wearing, Natty Light-drinking Frat Boy crowd, suddenly the same "hardcore" gamers who praised Combat Evolved decided it was cool to hate Halo when the sequel arrived. Regardless, my point is that price has nothing to do with the quality of the game, and value is the most subjective quality a game can have. After all, I know people who would tell you that the Midship remake that comes with the Halo 3 multiplayer disc is worth the $60 alone. Interestingly enough, the idea behind Horde/Firefight has been around for a while. I'm not going to claim UT2k4 did it first, since I'm not terribly familiar with a lot of the mods from older games, it did have a mode (Invasion) that is pretty much the same concept they apparently later used for Horde and Bungie (from how it's been described to me) used for Firefight. However, in all fairness, I have heard Firefight was very well done.
Which is my biggest problem with a lot of "awesome" Edit: To be clear, I was responding to:

You fail at having an opinion. I played through coop HALO 3 and am currently in the middle of coop ODST. IMO ODST is a ton more interesting while HALO 3 was more like "Let's get this over with." While it may be very short, it's a great short game. You know what else was a great short game? Call of Duty 4. How dare they charge me $60 when that game first came out! I will wholeheartedly admit I'm a Halo fan. Bungie creates amazing games and has an unparalleled dedication to the quality of their products and the depth of the universe they've crafted. Of course, you exemplify the entire "cool to hate" attitude I'm referring to. You use the word "fanboy" like 6 times, and assume I'll deny it. You use that little schoolhouse "Gaylo" rhyme that you probably still think is so hysterical and original. You type "MS" with a dollar sign, which is even more hilarious considering you clearly own an Xbox and play copious amounts of Gears of War, which is published by Microsoft just like Halo is, is subject to the same "cool to hate" nonsense, and comes with the same asinine rhyming name games you used so well. Oh and by the way, you misspelled "schlong". Jackass. ------------ | GameDibs.com | Dibcast | Twitter | Facebook | Steam | A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere |

Thank you for proving my point.
*Seriously. I was just razzing you a bit. Relax. |

I've seen many mods that are like "Horde Mode" for Half Life way back in the day.
I don't see why you would think about purchasing ODST, if you don't like Halo 3. Even if it just an example. I see GAYS OF WAR on Moonsong's gamer tag. I guess that makes you a fan boy. No wonder why you are hating on ODST. Its because of the Firefight mode. I guess you can go back and SLURP your GAYS of WAR. See what I did there? Moon song is a straight dumb ***. Oh I am not kidding. |

So after seeing the recent posts, I decided to finally watch the video. It really really wasn't all that funny. They were trying way too hard. The only part that made me chuckle was the "spend all day fighting in helmets... and still have great hair." Other than that, it was pretty "meh".
And as to what the discussion has devolved into, it's okay to hate Halo, but hate it for the right reasons, not because it has a huge following. Edit:
That's what I figured. I had this inkling I had seen a similar mode before UT2k4, but I couldn't place where. |

I trust Errrskate's opinion on the video, so I'll be avoiding it.
