Completely agree Rhoulette a healthy diet/lifestyle does make a huge difference to how you feel, and also how your body deals with illnesses/healing. I never really had an unhealthy diet anyway but since I increased the amount of fruit/vedge per day and changed white bread for whole meal, cut down a little on the chocolate, etc I did notice a real difference.

Personaly the only real advice I would offer is to make changes slowly, so start by say having a apple and banna every day and maybe doing ten situps, then give it a week and up it to twent situps a day. After you've built up the situps start adding in push ups or something else. By doing this you avoid almost all the negatives aching limbs, pain etc and it becomes a permanet way of life rather than a fad. Cool

My advice is quit being a lazy fat f*ck, eat less, put down the controller and go for a run every once in a while. It's really not hard at all.

I've lost 15 pounds so far.

Right by dismissing my achievements as inferior techniques compared to yours, and then accusing me of doing nothing but playing video games all day. You sure are a keeper. Do yourself a favor and keep your thoughts to yourself, cause you obviously don't think before you ever post anything.

Dude...I wasnt reffering to yu personally about playing games to much, I just meant that, that is the main cause of problems for anyone and I didnt say your techniques were inferior...I just merely meant adding some of my techniques with yours would cause someone to go really thin and be completely healthy. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Smile

I stopped drinking soda last year and I did actually lose several pounds.

Seems like there is a direct correlation between GamerPudge and GamerScore points. As one goes up so does the other--given everything else is kept at a constant. Smile

Very good blog Rhou.

My wife, who works for Jenny Craig and is very health conscious also felt it contained a lot of good advice.

Here are a few other things.
Splenda is a good alternative to processed sugar. Natural is alright but in small doses.
Sugar binds to fat and causes it to hold more water which in turn makes the fat cells expand. Which makes you look bloated and fat.

Chocolate is good for you in regards to heart disease and cancer. (Especially Dark Chocolate)

Eat at least 5 meals a day starting with a large breakfast. This will give you energy throughout the day. The other meals should be comprised of smaller portions and snacks. Including fruits in the early part of the day.

Eat lots of green veggies. Broccoli and spinach especially.

Do not wait until you feel hungry to eat. Your body will not let you know it is hungry until it is really really hungry. When you skip meals in order to eat one heavy meal (as someone else suggested) it throws your body clock off and also causes your body to begin to process stored calories that it normally burns at night. (not good)

When eating out, eat half of your dinner and push the plate away. In about 5 minutes your body will let you know if it is satisfied or not. (it takes time to realize you are full.
Resturant's generally serve what equals a triple portion because of the psychological feeling that people get from thinking they are getting a bargain. or their monies worth.

do not eat within 4 hours of your bed time.

Try not to drink soda's, but if you do, do not drink any after 3pm. Switch to water or a sugar free/Caffine free Tea or Lemonade (Crystal light)Water will greatly reduce your headaches and daytime drowseyness. It will also make you more alert and able to better retain info from your classes.

Stick with whole grains for bread and cereal. Not only will this give you natural energy but also make you regular.

the only oatmeal that is good for you is whole grain oatmeal. The rest are loaded with sugars.

10lbs may seem like a lot of weight, but it really isn't. Sorry. You can drop 10 lbs in a couple of days just by changing your habits for a short time. It is the next 10 lbs that is the challenge.

The average American is 22 lbs overweight in regards to their body mass index. 20 lbs in excess weight is considered obese.

If you want to know what it feels like carrying that extra weight around, my wife suggests taking a 5-10lb bag of sugar and tossing it into a purse or backpack and lug it around for a day. That is what they do at Jenny Craig. It gives the clients a true perspective.

Walk at least 1 mile per day at a brisk pace. By controlling your breathing (count to seven with each inhale and count to seven with each exhale) will also help your body to process the calories faster during the workout.

If you want more, i will post some. I have learned a bunch from my wife who really knows about this.

Without having any exercise routine or carrying sugar in my purse, I've managed to lose weight without harming myself or changing my daily habits. My daily habits, does not include playing video games despite what many believe. I call that the lazy man's victory.

What kind of purse do you carry? J/K

It just takes a positive attitude and regular physical activity to keep you from getting fat.
Take it from me. I eat like **** as often as possible. (side effect of being married to someone who is all about the health thing.)
In fact i think i am going to walk next door and get some Taco Bell.

I carry a Coach.

I agree on the positive attitude thing. I drew my advice from Moepower.
